I really do love what I do. What a treat! The last two days I have been conversing with an 87 year old who makes me laugh and reminds me why I love my job. His former advisor is long retired and I was given the opportunity to assist him. If only we could all enjoy life as much as he does.

Today I have been deeply saddened by the news of the loss of several Iranian Canadians from Edmonton in the airplane incident that occurred shortly after departure from Tehran. The last few years I have come to know several people who study here and whose family have come to visit them. My heart goes out to them, to the Persian community who has lost so many and especially to the families of those who did not make it home to Edmonton. It is a struggle to find words of comfort in the face of tragedy. To my Iranian friends and acquaintances, it is with a very heavy heart that I extend condolences from my family to yours.
