This couple is extra special. I get the amazing honour to photograph their wedding in October. And I also was blessed to help them BUY their first home last week!!! They are EXACTLY why I do this. This Christmas was extra special. Dad got to be home from the hospital. He scared the crapp out of my mom and us... surviving a major heart attack with 100% blockage found throughout his main artery! . He is so excited for his second chance and new changes for 2021. . My mom asked me to take some photos of them on Christmas Day... and while they were smiling for a photo all posed..... . My dad says I survived for you. . (If you zoom in you can see her tears. Why I love taking photos? . I love meeting new people. Hearing their story. Their life plans. Like these two. Who are welcoming their first born baby son. And all the feels of how having their baby during Covid times can be very hard. . There is so many firsts as you are pregnant for the first time: first baby shower, first ultrasound, first time you hear the fetal heart rate, first time holding your baby. 2020 is almost over! . I’m happy to kiss it goodbye but also look back on it positively and personally. . 1) We sold our house and moved in with my In laws for 8 months! It was a cherished time filled with lots of memories. ... . 2) I realized how unreliable photography can be. I don’t mean that in a negative way. It was just a huge shock to the system when 50% of your weddings get cancelled or postponed all within 2 weeks. It also made me appreciate living with my in laws even more as we developed a new groove. . 3) I became a realtor with my family @thekentalateam. This was one of the biggest changes I made in 2020. And one I have found to bring me a lot of joy. . 4) I just moved to our new place on my birthday! And although it’s a mess still, I’m appreciating our new home and time together. . 5) I am more grateful for people who have stuck around. Who follow my photography, hire me, talk to me. I realized how much I look forward to hearing from YOU and knowing how you are doing too. So please keep talking to me! I’m still here . 2021 may not be that much different. But challenge yourself and make goals. I for sure will be... tomorrow... goal for tomorrow: make goals for 2021 right now my only goal is to see what room I can organize without falling asleep haha . Five years old. How?! Time flies so fast. It truly does go in the blink of an eye. I am constantly reminded of how amazing, and blessed I am to have Dominic as my son. He’s the Most sweetest, most caring, smart boy I have ever met. You can’t outsmart him cause he will argue and prove you wrong. He is constantly curious of the world and asking to have two more siblings. (Ha... not gonna happen). He loves whole heartedly and can be deeply hurt because of it, he’s super sensitive but also understanding. I could go on.... . He brought such joy in my life 5 years ago.
