Finished up these really cool multi-colour boards today. These were a result of Team Pours. Every family member gets a bucket of a different pigmented resin, and we simultaneously and slowly pour into a form filled with slab pieces. The result is a wonderful blend of metallic tones and the transitions are certainly eye-catching. Made with black walnut slabs for @sdrusticdecor and @chemtecepoxy from @burntbrydgeswoodco. Ladies and Gentlemen, here it is. I don’t normally name my pieces, and I can’t even take the creative credit, but...it’s The Betty Rubble Table. You’re either old enough to remember Betty’s dress when you watched The Flintstones, or young enough to Google It. Some cool live edge maple, a base layer of custom pigment mix epoxy resin, some Port Stanley beach stones (those cool little flat black ones) along with a piece of driftwood, and clear over top. Finished with a flood... coat for that liquid glass finish. Poured in a one-piece reusable HDPE form from @jeffmacksupply Square metal legs by Taylored Custom Fab via @sdrusticdecor with the slab from @bigassslabs and @chemtecepoxy from @burntbrydgeswoodco and @rampatec inserts and fasteners holding it all together. Kiefer and I sorted through just a few board feet of black cherry slabs today, kiln dried by @bigassslabs There’s some beauties in there, lots of wormy hollow character and some really sharp grain variations. This will make a bunch of charcuterie board and river trays, and there’s a handful of truly unique river tables to be had of this stock.
