"Our stay in Campbell River was specifically to go on a tour to the Toba Inlet in search of grizzly bears Over the years we’ve tended to spend our vacations overseas, primarily in search of wildlife. If anything good has come out of this pandemic, it is the opportunity it has afforded us to stay in B.C. and travel locally. This beautiful province did not disappoint." Nature taking its course. Watching these beautiful grizzlies bulk up on salmon was amazing to witness. They all used such interesting techniques. This fella would feel around the bottom of the river and snag a fish, like noodling. David Wilder Photography On tour in 2020 with Campbell River Whale Watching... #ExploreKlahoose #IndigenousBC

I am lost for words over what we got to experience today! Not only did we see grizzlies fish, play and swim in the wild we also saw a pod of orcas, breaching... humpbacks and chased waterfalls in the most incredible water. Thank-you @tamikayelvo for allowing us to share these great videos you took on your tour with Klahoose Coastal Adventures! -- : https://www.indigenousbc.com/how-to-travel-responsibly -- : https://www.indigenousbc.com/stay-local-support-indigenousbc
A big Thank You to Stefano Faita for his incredible generosity this past week. It wasn't always the best conditions but few things will stop this guy...and his ...daughter Emilia! Huge thank you to all of our team: Klemqwateki Louie, Cheyanne Hackett, Paul Muskee, Stephen Cantryn, Anita Noble, Rosemary Jack, Lena De ridder and of course Chief Kevin Peacey. And I wouldn't want to forget the artists behind this production: Yvonne Defour and Antoine Bergevin Richer Showcasing the work that we do at Qathen Xwegus and the culture and people of Klahoose First Nation was the objective of this week but we came out of this experience with so much more: Incredible memories and new friends!

Grizzly Bear catching a salmon, Toba Inlet, British Columbia. We watched in awe as this huge Grizzly walked up and down the river, before catching a salmon right in front of us. The water erupted as the bear launched its self at the fish, with it safely pinned down, it then reposition the fish in its jaws before taking it off into the woods to eat. What are we thankful for? This year was unlike any other, one we almost didn’t have. Today we take a step back and think of the life changing experiences we are able to give each guests, now more impactful then ever. Thank you to our guide Klemqwateki Louie Cheyanne Hackett Benny Lessard for making this happen and thank you to all our guests that helped us stay open this season. For this we are grateful. Happy thanksgiving everyone!... ...and the final shot from our last ride home. #klahoosecoastaladventures #indigenousbc
Repost @salt.on.cedars At work (in Knight Inlet), we see mostly female bears in the estuary except during breeding season (May and June), and occasionally in the fall when the males are traveling to the rivers to look for salmon. In Toba Inlet, on the river where they do their bear viewing, they see mostly males. These large males will usually take the prime fishing spots, forcing the females and younger bears to the margins. #klahoosecoastaladventures #tobainlet #knightinlet #grizzlybear #grizzlybearviewing #indigenousbc #destinationindigenous #discovercampbellriver #explorevancouverisland #klahoose #bearviewingbc #explorebc #beautifulbritishcolumbia #widlifephotography #naturephotography #desolationsound #explorecanada
