The Royal Canadian Legion has a new member. The Corner Brook branch recently made Spark, a service dog, an honorary member. Here's that story, as seen on the Monday edition of the NTV Evening News Hour:
Representing NB Command, Royal District Commander Harold DeFazio, along with Peninsula Br. 62 President Kathy Campbell, presented Macdonald Consolidated School principle Ellen Whittaker-Brown (right) with a $1000.00 from the Command Community Service Fund for the school's Milk and Meal Program that provides students with a healthy meal at the start of the day and snacks throughout. Presentation was made at Peninsula Br. 62's Annual General Meeting on January 4, 2021.
A lovely tribute during this Remembrance Season: rocks painted with Remembrance Day motifs and laid on the Rothesay Cenotaph by Ms.Tilley’s Grade 3 Class at Rot...hesay Elementary School. I was very touched to see this display as I walked across the Common yesterday. We can’t remember in our usual ways this year- kudos to these students for finding a meaningful way to remember. You are on your way to becoming wonderful citizens See more
