A biased headline but an interesting article.

New business cards just in time for tax season. Really, just an update of the old ones. I like the wood print. I am ready to go for tax season 2018/9 and always available to help with any tax or accounting problems you may have. No matter how small, it's easier to get it right to start rather than to fix problems down the road.

If you voted Liberal because you thought they would help the middle class, you were wrong. I was. Tax changes implemented over the last few years have only served to increase tax for most small businesses. Trudeau doesnt understand that it is the middle class who own and operate those small businesses and hes effing all of them.

A minimum wage increase is still a better deal. Min wage = $14 x 40 x 52 = $29,120 / year Based on 2017 tax rates, taxes, etc would be:... Federal $ 2,185 Provincial $1,169 CPP $1,268 EI 475 Total = $ 5,097 Ford can only effect the provincial tax of $1,169 $1 more of minimum wage would increase income by $1 x 40 x 52 = $2,080 but taxes will of course go up too. Total tax, etc. at $15 would be $5,623 an increase of $526. So, make $1 more an hour means a net increase of $2,080-526=$1,554. The $1 increase vs. Fords proposal for zero tax at minimum wage means you will still get $385 less in your pocket. Further, the dollar more paid probably goes back into the economy. A reduction in tax revenue will only serve to increase the provincial deficit.

Its PD Tuesday instead of Friday. The bagels are more fresh. I like sitting at the back of the room. That way, I dont worry about being my usually fidgety self.

I received my practice inspection report today: The only issue the inspector could find was that in one instance, I used the word "revenue" when I should have said "income". I guess I'm okay to practice for another five years. :)

Starting up a new business? Filing Articles of Incorporation are only the first step. Call me to discuss what other steps you need to go though to properly get your company up and running.... I'm working with a new client who set up their own corporation 18 years ago and didn't do anything other than incorporate. If Canada Revenue looked at their corporate records, they'd realize, no one actually owns the company and all the income and expenses over the years are in question.

Summer Friday at the office: Check my Work In Progress list, Bug clients who need to send me information, and; Hope they don't get back to me until Monday. ;)... I am always current, so I don't worry about deadlines. You see, the deadlines are never mine. The deadlines belong to my clients and my clients pay me to meet deadlines without worry.

I missed my life/business coach appointment this week. I'm on track. So, I don't mind that much that I missed the appointment. However, while meeting with a client later that day, I was reminded of this thought: An hour with my coach on a regular basis, even if it's in the middle of the business day, is valuable to you and your business. If you can't be in the moment and clear of mind, you can't run your business or yourself properly.

I missed my regular therapy appointment this morning. I'm okay. I can go for the next couple weeks but I was reminded of this thought while meeting with a needful client this afternoon... An hour in therapy on a regular basis, even if it's in the middle of the business day, is valuable to you and your business. If you can't be in the moment and clear of mind, you can't run your business properly either.
