Klondike Welding is a locally owned and operated company for over 30 years. We are a CWB certified welding shop under CSA W47.1. Klondike Welding specializes in Structural Steel Fabrication and Erection, fabricating approximately 500 Tons per year. We are currently seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to join our team. Job Purpose and Duties: Direct Supervisor to shop on-floor personnel and directs the flow of work throughout the shop Provide direction and on-floor leadership with continuous improvements of the production process Coordinate Production Schedule with Management Ensure production quality is being met and safety is being followed during the process Maintains a working knowledge of the status of all current projects Responsible for day to day problem solving on the floor ensuring there are no unnecessary work stoppage or delays Delegate work responsibilities and tasks to on-floor personnel Responsible for disciplinary actions for insubordination of crew members The Successful Candidate should have the following Qualifications: Management Experience with a crew of approximately 12-15 personnel Knowledge and Experience in the Welding Industry Knowledge and Experience in a Shop Atmosphere Must be Capable and Knowledgeable of Structural Blueprints CWB Welding Supervisor Certification would be considered an asset Knowledge and Experience with Steel Erection would be considered an asset Klondike Welding offers competitive wages based on work qualifications and experience. We would like to thanks the City Council and the Mayor of Whitehorse to review their procurement strategy and proceed with a public tender for the replacement of the Sumanik Bridge rather than a sole-source contract to a Southern-based company. We are glad the City of Whitehorse will give us the opportunity to keep many Yukonners employed and serve the City of Whitehorse with their Structural Steel projects and welding needs for years to come.
