With more and more products being offered and non dental professionals doing whitening, we thought it’s important to show you the steps and why you should leave your whitening to a Dental Professional. It’s not as simple as just whitening. Diagnosis and prevention is key. This patient is 32 years old and requested whitening. ... His visit included a dental exam no caries diagnosed but the Dentist suggested we replace the front tooth resto to match his new whitening colour, a 45 minute cleaning to help reverse mild gingivitis on lower anteriors, remove light calculus build up on lower anteriors and between lower molars to give better whitening results, 5 minute polishing to remove light surface staining, pre op instructions. Followed by two whitening sessions using Boost whitening system. No light needed as it has no effect on the whitening and a take home post care kit for any tooth or gum sensitivity. The patient was happy with the results and will be back in two weeks to replace the filling.
