Breastfeeding protects you and your baby in many ways - and keeping babies and young children healthy is more important now than ever. Breastfed babies are less... likely to be sick from common infections. Breastfed babies have food security. Breastfeeding comforts both mother and baby, even when the household is very stressed. Breastfeeding directly, without bottles or pumps, minimizes your effort of contamination and maximizes the germ-fighting power of your milk. Some parents may be feeding a combination of expressed milk and infant formula along with direct breastfeeding. Breastfeed directly as much as possible - you may be able to increase your supply by doing this. Having everyone at home can make things busy for caregivers. Be sure to make time for your baby and feed on cue - others in the household need to prioritize your breastfeeding. Learn more: http://safelyfed.ca/covid19-resources
