Trying not to be emotional, but I’m pretty sad. If you’ve followed Knitatude for a while, you’ll every once in a while see a glimpse of the beautiful lake view of Gull Lake from my childhood cabin. My parents designed it and built it together, and it’s been in my life for nearly all of it. I have had the privilege of growing up here, and after my Dad passed away, it’s always been a spot to remember him by. We made so many memories here and it’s the place where I remember him ...most. Sadly like another chapter coming to a close in our life, we put it up on the market and it’s now conditionally sold. I have so many emotions as we’re up this weekend starting to clean it out. So many memories of every item I hold in my hands. I will miss this place so much This is the #LakeSideBeachWrap which I named after my cabin. Dare I say... Trust the math? I decided to switch up the way I design with my newest summer top. Since @lionbrandyarn Truboo stretches SO much when blocked - I kind of had to. I whipped out my excel spreadsheet and went to town on the formulas and columns and decided to grade the entire top (XL-5X) before even casting on a stitch. ... It’s like I’ve forgotten how to grade a raglan for a while . So this week I’ve hit up the @craftyarncouncil and @ysolda websites for measurements, rechecked my top-down knitting book, learnt about the Elizabeth Zimmerman percentage formula... it’s been a lot. Designers: 1) do you ever do the math completely before starting? 2) have you ever had it where all the knowledge you thought you had on how to grade a project just fell out of your head? Keep your eye out for this basic tee (I’m thinking the #TeeTimeTee - cause the collars remind me of golfing) in July! .
