Introducing the #GoldstoneBralette Say hey hi hello to a TRULY beginner-friendly pattern that includes 20+ photos to let you know you’re on the right track, like I’m right there beside you crocheting it too. With this pattern, you can crochet your own bralette in any size, thanks to the tutorial-style writing. It doesn’t matter what your usual clothing size is, all you need are 2 body measurements. I walk you through every single step clearly (and included supplementary... photos) so that you can crochet it with confidence, knowing you’re on the right track! I’m so happy with how this piece came out and I hope you love it too! Trying to really get in that summer mindset yenno?? This project was #sponsored by @wecrochetofficial I used only 1.5 skeins of their CotLin DK in Cashew for this sample! I probably could have made the cups a tinyyyy bit bigger but I already seamed it together and I’m a lazy crocheter so I left it.. Bralettes are so quick to make because.. we’ll just look - there’s not much to it hahaha so if you are wanting a quick gratification project, this is it! (And it’s free!) There’s a gauge included but honestly you can just scrap that and use any yarn and corresponding hook if you want to go rogue and design your own with what ya got! This pattern is viewable on my blog at knitsnknots.ca/goldstone-Bralette, or you can purchase the PDF version on any of my usual platforms. Thanks for your support in advance!

Hi everyone! This is a design from my book, called Garnet Bay, and I need some more testers for this one! (If you’ve already applied for it, you’ve probably already been given a slot!) I was supposed to send this test out yesterday but it will go out later today while I try to get some more testers! I need all sizes from L-5X! I’ll include a swipe up link in my stories for this design - please apply if you’d like to test this warm-weather top! 5-week timeline, and anyone can ...apply This style of top is called a cold shoulder top for obvious reasons! It’s got fun little shoulder cutouts, feminine wide sleeves and an all over stitch pattern. I used @premieryarns Cotton Fair, but you can use anything you want! Also, book pre-orders are actually live right now on Amazon if you search Janine Myska but I will do a big announcement for it once the cover image is revealed PS our hand dyed yarn went live this morning and we are about 50% sold out already! Click the link in my bio to shop our remaining stock! @ Winnipeg, Manitoba

Some special news In the long-term plans for Knits ‘N Knots, dyeing yarn was always a part of it. Matt has also wanted to try it for years, and it was always something we wanted to do together. In 2020 when we bought our house, it seemed like we were finally in a good place to give it a whirl. So once my manuscript was mostly wrapped up, on January 1st 2020, we started renovating our basement into a dye studio, knocking down walls, ordering all the dyes to experiment with, ...ordering all the equipment, building our cabinets and storage, installing the countertops, painting, and making it a real workspace. We started off with some bare yarns from @knit_picks / @wecrochetofficial and then ordered from a Canadian supplier once we found out what we liked! This is something that Matt and I are doing together. So you’ll probably be seeing some snippets of him in my stories. I think for some of our future releases, we will each try to develop the same colourway idea and have you all vote on which one we actually dye up! I’ll have to think of some competition-battle-type name for it Anyway, our first ever yarn, the SAMPLE BATCH, goes on sale tomorrow at 10am central. There is a very limited quantity, as this is yarn that was dyed up while we experimented with different dyes, methods, and colour ways. Colours will vary somewhat within each listing, but we’ll make sure to give you similar-looking ones if ordering multiples! They’re all DK, 100% superwash merino. They will be sold at a slightly lower price than our future collections since these were our first samples, at $24.50 per hank (Canadian). We are so excited to bring you some new product (and future pattern designs with my own yarn!!) and we hope you are excited about it too! Big things are coming! Let me know in the comments what your favourite colourways are! Warm or cool tones? Speckled? Tonals? Bold or subtle colours? What colours are you usually drawn to? Also what weight is your fav? No wrong answers!! Thank you so much for following along + always supporting Knits ‘N Knots.. we can’t wait to bring you some pretty yarn! - Janine + Matt @ Winnipeg, Manitoba

It’s for free and it’s for you and it’s coming tomorrow and it’s called the #LindenCardigan Do you guys remember back in the day when I used to make the #AlohaVest and random styles of bralettes on repeat all the time? If you’ve been around for a while then you might have been here for my Bralette phase where I literally made a bralette every day for an entire summer and I kind of miss that Make-it-up-as-you-go, put-a-stitch-wherever kind of mindset that I used to have! Without having to worry to make more of every detail so that I can translate it into 9 sizes for a pattern. This mesh cardigan reminded me of the early days of learning to crochet, where I was all about boho-70s vibes and beachy things. I think I’m gonna return to that vibe for the summer if that’s okay with you

INTRODUCING THE BODY LANGUAGE CARDIGAN *shaking from excitement* Okay WOW I haven’t released a pattern in forever that wasn’t part of a collab or commission - this design is something that I chose to create just for me!! (AND FOR YOU!)... The #BodyLanguageCardigan is a cardigan version of my #BodyLanguageSweater that released in early 2020! It has been one of my best performing patterns since its release, so I thought I would create a cardigan version since you guys seemed to love it so much!! I even used the same yarn, @lionbrandyarn, but with a slightly different gauge. All you’ll need is a 3.75mm hook! Check the blog post (link in bio) for all sizing and yardage info! In my opinion.. this cardigan version is even better than the pullover version and the pattern is much more well-written. We’ve included metric units, tons of links, yarn notes, and there are even photos included to help you along in case you’re more of a visual learner! This whole piece uses only the HDC stitch! Literally that is the only stitch you need to know - easy peasy! Swipe to see some of my tester photos - I included some in the blog post as well just like I did for the pullover version! Keep checking back because I will keep updating the post as more pics roll in Thank you so much to my lovely testers who worked hard on this test with such a quick turnaround - I appreciate you so much Now.. tell me what colour would you make? Link in bio to pattern! Will be available as a crochet kit on @lionbrandyarn on March 4/2021! @ Winnipeg, Manitoba

New pattern: Misty Valley Scarf in collaboration with WeCrochet The name Misty Valley was chosen for this scarf to reflect the hazy, blurred effect of the wool stitches combined with the undulating rows resembling peaks and valleys. This yarn lends a slight halo effect to the crocheted fabric, minimizing the stitch definition and creating a fuzzy texture resembling mohair. This causes the stitches to delicately blend together; an effect that pairs beautifully with this text...ured stitch pattern. Palette was specifically chosen for this design due to the vast array of colour options and its budget-friendly nature. This accessible yarn is comprised of 100% wool, creating a warm, breathable, insulating scarf that will keep you comfortable all winter long. Inspired by colour schemes commonly seen in the 60s and 70s, avocado-green and mustard-yellow were chosen to bring a vintage feel to this modern design. The long, elegant scarf features wavy rows of puff stitches and asymmetrical blocks of striping to add depth to the fabric and bring unexpected textural elements to this otherwise simple piece. Personalize your scarf by adding fringe, tassels, extra length, additional accent colours, or by creating your own striping pattern for a truly custom piece. https://knitsnknots.ca/misty-valley/

Working hard to get this wavvvvvvy scarf finished! Currently LOLing at past-Janine who said just make a scarf! It will be QUICK! It’s ok tho because this is turning into one of my fav designs! I’m so glad you all love this piece too! It’s just such a gorgeous stitch pattern and this fingering weight yarn was the perfect match for it. @wecrochetofficial Palette is a little fuzzy and kind of gives a similar halo effect like mohair does. Kind of. I lovelovelove the way it’...s looking so much Swipe to the second pic - can you spot one of my free patterns ?? Then, swipe to the third pic to see my SAD yarn cake I wound it up (with my ball winder and swift from @wecrochetofficial) but I was winding TOO FAST and it FLEW across the room so I had to finish winding by hand. Has this happened to you? This has happened to me way too many times, like an embarrassing amount of times, and I’m not sure when I will learn ?¿ I will update you on the yardage as soon as I’m done this piece !!! Pattern comes out Friday @ Winnipeg, Manitoba

I loved my tree so much this year! We found this tree and the lights at the thrift store, the bow is just a ribbon that came with some packaging that would have otherwise have been thrown out, and I made the orange garland and the tree skirt! The tree skirt is a free pattern sponsored by WeCrochet... using their Fable Fur yarn that you can find at http://knitsnknots.ca/fable-fur-tree-skirt/ to make now - while we're all at home - and be extra prepared for Christmas 2021 Keeping this tree up until early 2021 because I just love looking at her #WeCAmbassadorsDec20

Just finished writing my 19th book pattern - just one more to grade and then the math is donnnnne! This is the sweater that I let Instagram design when I asked a bunch of questions in polls and let you guys decide how this sweater would look! You chose a bow in the lower back, a deep V-neck and a few other details that led to this finished piece Now I’m working on the pattern for a 3-colour cardigan using some yarn that Jessica sent me from @the.hook.nook and that will be... the 20th and final pattern! The sample is all done and I’m just grading it now. Then, just a couple things left: I’ll have to take my long list of sweater names and assign names to each of my samples. Then, I’ll have to write the beginning text of the book - kind of the how to use this book type stuff. Everything to do with stitches, blocking, sizing, etc! 19 days until the manuscript is due, and I am getting so excited to have this project wrapped up! Hope everyone is having a relaxing holiday break! @ Winnipeg, Manitoba

What tha heck is she making ?¿ Currently working on a wrap-type piece in the linen stitch which also includes some double crochet mesh and the half double crochet slip stitch - (my new fav crochet stitch), with some short rows and tbh I am kind of making it up as I go, but these types of projects always end up being my favourite hehe and this (whatever it ends up being ) will be out at the end of the month!! Until I have more of it done, this is all the sneak peek you get ...for now! #JustWingIt Using @wecrochetofficial Hawthorne fingering weight yarn in Eliot (my third project using this exact yarn and colourway ) in collaboration with @wecrochetofficial @ Winnipeg, Manitoba
