What am I working on next??? Just ripped this beautiful piece of cherry and discovered such lovely colours and markings. Keeping it simple for this one. Since they’ve been my most popular box so far - a couple of side by side heart boxes will take their shape from this beautiful piece. ... You’ve watched me weaving the wood, and cutting the blank and then carving out two completely different designs. Woven walnut with maple. Asymmetrical box with 2 drawers plus a removable insert. Drawers are lined with black suede flocking for a different look. I love the grain on this box, including the knot that has taken over the left foot. And the core is also walnut with some really unusual colouring (there’s pink in there!) ... Finished as many of my other boxes are, with a mineral oil and wax butter. This box is so touchable!!! Let me know what you think in the comments below Swipe for more pics. Just a few clips of carving out shapes from a block of maple and walnut. If you look closely you’ll see I’m actually making two boxes from this block and the clips are a little mix of both.

Box #2 of the 3 finished. Related to a previously sold and loved box. This one has the walnut core repeated as handles. Finished with Clarke’s oil and wax as all of my boxes have been so far.
