‘Hooves in the Sand - Dancing in the Dark’ weekend 'Equestrian LIFE 2018 Exhibition Showcase' May 18-21, 2018 (grounds and facilities of Knowlton Ridge)... Program over the long Victoria Day weekend includes 1, 2, 3, 4: 1. The 4th annual Northern Ontario Club Tournament (starts Friday evening May 18th to Sunday afternoon May 20th, 2018) - The Club Tournament horse show will allow clubs and Barns to compete against each other for points. - Each club or Barn has a set number of riders in each class and each division. - Divisions include lead liners, youth, Tenderfoot and senior. - We have English performance, Jumping, Western performance and Gaming. - To compete riders must be in a team. - The event promotes horsemanship with riders and their horses, and promotes sportsmanship between teams and riders. Music Night Barn Dance ALL Public (large indoor arena, the Arctic Dome) Evening of Saturday May 19 - starts 9:00p.m. ++ - Music will feature ‘Dancing in the Dark’ with all of Bruce Springstein’s other friends in a most danceable mix of country, classic, rock and R&B from the decades - No alcoholic beverages being served during the barn dance. ========== 3. As the 'hooves in the sand' taper off by Sunday afternoon the grounds and facilities will be open to team sport events (Sunday-Monday May 20-21, 2018) 50% payback ‘Team Sports’ will include: - Volley Ball (min. 4 players max. 6 players) @ $2.50 per player - - Sand Hockey (min. 4 players max. 6 players) @ $2.50 per player and bring your stick - - ‘Polar Bear’ water dip 100% to the funding raising drive ($5 sponsors you or someone to a 2 minutes ‘ice water dip’, $10 sponsors a 5 minute ‘ice water dip’) - *** ALL proceeds from the ‘Team Sports’ will be donated to the local Food Bank *** ============= ‘HOVERCRAFT Rides’ - free under 12 years of age (however must be accompanied by a qualifying person / guardian) ============= 4. Open camping and trailer camping available onsite throughout the weekend of musical performances by local talents. Proceeds have been designated in support of our local non-profit organization, the North Bay Regional Health Centre (Hospital Foundation). A Canadian tradition since 1876, a troop of 32 scarlet coated Mounties on majestic black horses present a 30 minute show of intricate figures and cavalry drills choreographed to music. A truly Canadian experience, come and see our national treasure perform live at Knowlton Ridge on Thursday July 5, 2018. The RCMP/GRC Musical Ride will be on location from July 4 to July 6, 2018.
