The weather did not cooperate so we moved our re-opening service inside with full Covid protocols in place. All seemed to go well. You can preach with a mask o...n ! And it is only fair ! If I expect the congregation to be masked however long the preacher preaches, then it is only right that the preacher be masked for however long the preacher preaches. And I have some control over that... We are planning for an outdoor service next Sunday September 20th at 11:00am. If it is cold and wet we will move inside. It is good to be together in person again. We will also continue to be posting worship online for those who are more comfortable with that at this time.

Today, we have a special treat, a service that was prepared by the Synod of Québec and Eastern Ontario. Below is a message from the Synod. Listen and see how many names and faces you recognize. Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ. On behalf of the synod council of the Synod of Québec and Eastern Ontario we share with you today a link to a worship service. The worship service was created by the synod council as an offering of support and pastoral care to clergy and worship l...eaders within the synod for use in their congregations during this unprecedented, challenging and tiring time of Covid-19. We know that much time has, and continues to be, invested in learning new techniques for communicating Gods message, love and care with Gods people during this extraordinary period. We are thankful for technology and the abundant forms of on-line worship that have been developed to feed Gods people. At the same time we are cognizant that the on-going Covid-19 pandemic has been draining on congregational leadership. The need for rest and renewal is vital for effective ministry, and to this end this worship service is offered for use on an upcoming Sunday of your choice so that you and the worship leaders in your congregation can take a much needed break from conducting on-line worship. I have received some interesting responses to the question in today's meditation - "What do you want Jesus to do for you?" Most who responded are in agreement t...hat Jesus has already done more than enough, but since I asked the question they have sent some answers. Far and away the most common answer is that they would like Jesus to spend some time with them and their families. Some would like to have Jesus over for a meal and dinner conversation. People expressed that they would like to have a conversation with Jesus and have Jesus answer some questions. Interesting! Thanks for your responses. Looking for and seeing Jesus helps take us there. Expecting to see Jesus gives substance and power to our faith and helps us 'on our way' to having God's way be our way. Good News ! What a blessing ! Geoff
