Each spring KM member George Grassick brings in some willow branches from his property near Lumsden to decorate the Sanctuary. Although Covid-19 meant that he could not to do so this year he’s sent along some photos of what he would have brought by under different circumstances! A beautiful sign of budding newness and Easter possibility! Thanks George!

This past Sunday’s reflection looked at the ideas of radical hospitality and redistributive justice, the Dinner Church movement, and the symbol of the fish in Christianity. Intrigued? Yesterday's sermon reflected on the story of Thomas; the vulnerability in sharing trauma; ableism; and the nature of faith. A beautiful reflection from enfleshed on the story of Thomas & Jesus. This story is the focus of our reflection tomorrow in which we ponder such questions as...is this the story of Jesus sharing or Thomas demanding? What does this story invite us to ponder about bodies? How does this story invite us to address harm and woundedness, in self, in relationships, in church, in society?

KMUC Worship will be online only effective Sunday, November 22. Dear Friends, We are called to be the church, to celebrate a gracious and passionate presence in our lives and world that we name as God, to live with respect and right relationships with all beings, and to seek justice, especially for the most vulnerable. ... Right now we are living out this call in a hard, worrying, often troubling and sometimes scary moment in our collective lives. This evening the Board of KMUC made the difficult but necessary decision to move to online only worship effective immediately. As case numbers and hospitalizations rise in this city and province, as medical professionals look to the public for support, we feel that this is the right, faithful response. In March we began to speak of this as a time to "Bless the Space Between Us" and we sought to nurture connection while we are in different places, choosing to stay apart as an act of love, for one another and for our world. While we deeply enjoyed being able to, for a time this fall, welcome limited numbers of masked worshippers following our PRAYSAFE guidelines, now the right thing to do is to once again be a community dispersed. This is especially hard as we approach a season of beloved story, song and ritual, but that which is hard can also be beautiful, and can also be good. We will be live on Facebook this Sunday at 10:30, we hope you will join us. Please stay safe and care for one another as best you are able. We are not alone. Thanks be to God. - Cam Fraser | Minister | Knox-Metropolitan United Church

Compassionate and wise words from Moderator Richard Bott of The United Church of Canada. Let us all seek to live love each day, including today while at the same time being patient and gentle with ourselves and others as we all grapple with the grief and disappointment at the loss of things we love about this time of year.

Two reflections based on Matthew 25:14-30, one from this morning, one from three years ago. One offers a Socio-Political Reading, the other comes from Poetic/Meditative perspective. They are shared here together in the feeling that one without the other is incomplete, that action and contemplation are less opposites and more like the inhale/exhale that make up breath. Of course, these are only opening conversations, not meant to be final words. https://mcusercontent.com//Matthew_25_14_30_A_Socio_Politi https://mcusercontent.com//Matthew_25_14_30_A_Poetic_Medit

On Friday afternoon we gathered with the family of Muriel Susan Brennecke at Riverside Cemetary to remember and give thanks for her life - Muriel was 104 years old when she passed away last Wednesday. Muriel was a baker, a loving aunt, and an ardent Riders and Blue Jays fan! After the service, the family came to Victoria Park, Regina to listen to the Darke Memorial Chimes play in her honour. After tolling 104 times (a new record for Master Bell Ringer Wayne) we caught this video of "Wilfred" an old hymn tune chosen in memory of Muriel's beloved husband Wilfred who passed away in 2004.
