A lot of people argue live recording versus isolated recording techniques based on "performance" value alone. I would like to mention that it's important to think creatively as well when deciding how you're going to track a record. I think this video from Sound On Sound showcases how you can use these techniques to enhance those qualities.
UPDATE 02/2016: I've had some inquiries recently about mixing, masters, recording and whether the radio silence on this page is an indication that we are no longer up and running. We are still operating at full capacity. ... We have a new studio partner to work with in our new base of operations Saskatoon, SK. This development has been a while in the making and is a primary reason for the lack of posts/work from us to you. We still are a fully functional record label, and are still very happy to work with/out of Arc House Studios in Kelowna, BC (our home). While our free mix/masters rate is no longer up and running, I am offering 1 free song to the first person to ask me for a mix and master of at least 3 songs, and of course if for any reason you're unsatisfied with the results you don't pay on any mix/master inquiry! I've been focusing a lot on my own projects, ambitions, musical ambitions, and general playing ability over the last year and that has definitely contributed to the lack of posts. I'm hoping to have finished an album for 01/2017 ready for fall/winter 2017 recording and spring/summer contributions/preparations. Keep up the hard work you all do in music creation, production, performance, and promotion. You're all absolute beauties and I'm honoured to have worked with those of you I have, and I can't wait to work with those of you I haven't yet.
THIS. This is THE shit. I'm super excited about this, and anyone making music should be too.http://whitestone.io
If you're looking for that perfect afternoon brew, or a midnight porter my buddy Gus will have a great write up to help you find whatever you're looking for. Check out his page The Thirsty Dutchman here:
I'm on a quest to discover as much Canadian music as I can. What/who are your favourite Canadian bands/artists/acts? This is not genre specific folks.
