Nahum 1:7 - The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him. Growing in our raised planter box is tomatoes and cucumbers.... This past weeks hot, hot, hot weather was rather hard on the plants as you can see in the first pictures. The location of the box is in the boiling hot sun and to protect the plants from baking, we put an umbrella over them. And voil!!! Within a short period of time, the plants started to revive and look healthy once again. As I contemplated the above scripture, I noted that the scripture doesnt say we wont have times of trouble, but rather that the Lord is a refuge in those times. Many of us feel like those wilted plants, after 3 months of the pandemic and the necessary restrictions that have been in place. Despite those feelings, I give thank for Gods protection over, and care in, my life as we continue to journey towards what lies ahead. May you also find comfort in knowing that the Lord is a refuge in times of trouble.
