Knox United Church 12.05.2021

A touching moment of silence from this morning's worship service. We remember, we are Nova Scotia Strong and we will rise again.

The safety of our congregation is always our first concern. Due to the increase in COVID 19 cases and additional restrictions within HRM, Knox Council has made the following difficult decisions: Sunday Worship Service, April 25: CANCELLED We are unable to provide a service this week, please enjoy a previous service and know that we will be thinking of you.... Congregational Meeting, April 25: POSTPONED We will select a date in the future, once we have completed this 4-week "circuit breaker" implemented by the Department of Health. Documents for the meeting can be found on our website under NEWS: Church Reports. Knox Council Meeting, April 27, CANCELLED Our next regular scheduled meeting is on May 25th. Please stay tuned for details nearer to that date.

Now that you've heard it once (if you worshipped virtually with us on Sunday), here you might be able to sing along, on the first full day of Epiphany. Peace and Light...

Our Knox Council, in compliance with provincial restrictions related to COVID 19, has decided to revert to live-stream or pre-taped services only. This means that effective immediately, there will be NO CONGREGATION in the Sanctuary during our 10:30 a.m. Sunday Service. In addition, Knox Council approved that this change affects all worship services BETWEEN SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 2020 THROUGH UNTIL SUNDAY, JANUARY 3, 2021. This INCLUDES our planned services for our Children's S...ervice (Dec. 20), the Longest Night of the Year (Dec. 21), and our Christmas Eve Services. We realize that this is a very different way to worship during one of the most important times of our Christian calendar. However, the safety of our congregation, Ministerial Team and our volunteers remains paramount. Please watch here for updates on our services, event information and stay safe. Yours in Christ - Knox Council

I am also writing in remembrance of Lily Snow. She passed away last Thursday. I consider it a real privilege to have known her, and I certainly came to appreciate her wit. I loved listening to her stories of her military life, and travels. Her life was a history book within itself. She was truly remarkable and did some wonderful things, and she will be missed by her friends here at Knox. I am also writing to offer you some hope during this challenging time. Once again we are... faced with restrictions and it would appear they will stay in place over Christmas. This is not what we were hoping for; however, maybe it is time now for us to look at others around us, those most vulnerable and see ourselves in their shoes, and be diligent. I believe this time shall pass and we will be back to a new normal again. Please stay safe, stay well, and have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR. May God’s blessing be with you all this Christmas, and in 2021. With love, Rev. Sandra
