This theme is related to several scripture passages: the first creation story in Genesis 1, Psalm 148 and Romans 8: 18-25. We are grateful to members of the Global Partners team who participated in worship. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjHbWOBakRI

Join us for worship at Knox Waterloo tomorrow, April 11th at 10am as we explore another resurrection appearance in the Gospel of John (John 20: 19-31). What can we learn from Thomas' encounter with the risen Jesus? Is Thomas actually the doubter that everyone labels him as? #encounteringtherisenchrist #jesusaliveinourmidst #doubtingthomas
Unfortunately, the signal from Knox Waterloo is not being received at CKWR radio, so today's service on April 25th cannot be aired live. A previously recorded service will be aired today on radio. Please reach out and let those know who would usually use this way of joining us for worship.

Easter Sunday Recognize Read: Luke 24: 13-35 Reflect: Where have you seen God this week? Pray: Holy God, you are right in front of me. So often we are face to face, and yet so often I miss it! I want to recognize you, but more than that, I want to walk with you. I want to eat with you. I want to rejoice with you. You are on the loose out in the world. Thanks be to God. I will keep my eyes open. Amen. Prayer by Rev. Sarah Are | A Sanctified Art LLC #Easter #openoureyes #recognizingGod #walkingwithGod
WHAT IS YOUR PRAYER FOR CREATION? This Sunday is Love of Creation Sunday in worship and we will explore climate justice and how it is our responsibility to care for all of God’s creation. Email to Hugh ([email protected]) your one-word or short-phrase prayer for creation. Your prayers will be used anonymously as part of the Prayers of Hope in worship on Sunday. Alternatively you can post below in the comments and we can gather your prayers from here and will incorporate them into the prayer on Sunday. #prayerforcreation #earthweek #climatejustice
Lent Day 40 Deny Read: John 13: 36-38 Reflect: When have you been in denial? When have you denied others? When have you denied God? Pray: oly God, Peter denied. I understand why. Being a Christian in this world is not easy. People have assumptions about what I believe, who I am, who I include. I find myself tempted to defend my beliefs, or to downplay how much I long for you. Forgive me, for I am like Peter. I have been ashamed to tell this story. Forgive me, forgive me, forgive me. Amen. Prayer by Rev. Sarah Are | A Sanctified Art LLC #LentDay40 #denial
Good Friday Service now on YouTube (link below): We remember the last moments of Jesus' life through scripture, art and reflection. We journey through the stations of the cross following the artwork of Rev. Lauren Wright Pittman. A cradle and a cross And between thesea life Bethlehem and Jerusalem... A birth and a death One of sorrows who sometimes wept One of joy who also kept compassion and grace alive and real Today may we experience the surge of Christ’s life and the depths of Christ’s love https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-K784z-2Kc
Lent Day 39 Tend Read: John 19: 38-42 Reflect: When have you witnessed someone tending to a difficult task? Pray: God of grace, in the aftermath of violence, Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus buried your son. They tended to the body, because even after death, your incarnate life mattered. Help me to tend to the difficult tasks that honor you. Amen. Prayer by Rev. Sarah Are | A Sanctified Art LLC #LentDay39 #tendingtodifficulty
Join us on this Holy Friday for worship at 10am through live-stream as we remember the last moments of Jesus' life through scripture, art and reflection. We will be journeying through the stations of the cross following the artwork of Rev. Lauren Wright Pittman. #holyfriday #stationsofthecross
Today we mark the evening when Jesus gathered with those closest to him and had a meal that is known to us as the Last Supper. During this meal he taught them about the new commandment to love one another just as he has shown love to them. This evening the Knox Waterloo Maundy Thursday service will be live-streamed at 7:30pm through our website. We invite you to have have some bread/crackers and juice/wine/beverage ready for communion, and a bowl of water & towel for hand or foot washing. If you wish to watch and participate in the service earlier in the day here is the link to watch it on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ie5iLU9RuYE
Lent Day 38 Light Read: John 12: 34-36 Reflect: Who or what serves as a nightlight in your life helping you see where you are, helping to guide your path? Pray: God of light, if I am walking, I want to walk toward the dawn. I want to walk into the sun. I want to walk closer to you. There are many long shadows that can distract and deter. Help guide my feet. Be my light. Gratefully I pray. Amen. Prayer by Rev. Sarah Are | A Sanctified Art LLC #LentDay38 #Godoflight #walkingtowardthedawn #bemylight
Lent Day 37 Anxious Read: Philippians 4: 4-9 Reflect: When have you experienced anxiety in your life? What did it feel like? What steps do you take to center yourself? Where is God in that? Pray: God of peace, we are all a little bit anxious. Our world moves so fast. How could we not be? I know anxiety is not what you wish for us, because you have always wanted whole, full, peaceful lives for your people. So today I ask for your deep breaths and a calm spirit. Relieve my anxiety. Center me. Help me slow down in a fast-paced world. Amen. Prayer by Rev. Sarah Are | A Sanctified Art LLC #LentDay37 #anxious #peaceofGod #deepbreaths #seekingacalmspirit
Lent Day 36 Wish Read: John 12: 20-21 Reflect: What wishes do you havefor your faith, for your relationship with God, for your relationship with yourself? Pray: Gracious God, there is much that I wish for. I wish for longer Sabbath days, for starry nights, for peace in my bones, for love in this city. However, above all else, I wish to see you. I wish for a closer relationship with you, O God. So scoop me up. Hear this wish. Hear this prayer. For I am like the Greeks who said, We wish to see Jesus. Amen. Prayer by Rev. Sarah Are | A Sanctified Art LLC #Lentday36 #wishing
Lent Day 35 Overturn Read: Matthew 21: 12-17 Reflect: What rhythms, habits, perspectives, narratives, or ways of thinking need to be overturned in your life? Pray: God of justice, you have never hesitated to overturn unjust structurespower systems, tables, stereotypes. In many ways, this can feel shocking to us. We humans are known for moving slowly when it comes to change or progress. So today I pray, help me let go of the need to control the tempo. I want to help you overturn. Amen. Prayer by Rev. Sarah Are | A Sanctified Art LLC #LentDay35 #overturn
