If you only have 30 minutes 4x a week, she can get you results. Please don't hesitate to reach out to her via email([email protected]). We are ecstatic to announce that Kodiak has brought on Nicholas Witczak(@nick.witczak), Tallyson Neves(@tallydono) and Steve Nesrallah(@nezmode, @wolvish_fitness)as coaches! Steve is all things crossfit/olympic lifting. Having owned a crossfit affiliate for nearly a decade and training people for even longer, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. Steve is not only an exceptional crossfit/olympic lifting coach, but strongly representative of the values we hold at Kodia...k Barbell. We are happy to have him Tallyson is our resident diet guru, having coached over 100 clients to successful weight loss/gain and helped them renegotiate their relationship with food. Tallyson instills self-sufficiency in his clientele and aims to teach and guide. Tallyson's knowledge regarding supplementation and diet is second to none, he is a walking encyclopedia. Nick is one of the best young powerlifting coaches in Canada. Effortlessly blending both theoretical understanding and practical application. Nick finds his experience in both the clinical setting as a registered Kinesiologist and a former football player for the Toronto Varsity Blues. Nick is the epitome of both brains and brawn.

Intensity is an often talked about topic in powerlifting as if its something EVERYONE should have. The Yerkes-Dodson law or arousal curve explains why that may not be the case. In my experience personally and with my lifters- the higher an athletes requisite ability with a given exercise the more "intensity" or arousal they can get away with and the worse they are the calmer they should be. Yes intensity is something we should all strive for- but that varies based on both personality type and the lifters skill. It's not a one size fits all solution to lifting heavy weight.

This is what makes it all worth it. If life took my ability to compete tomorrow- I'd be okay. I get the same rush from seeing people compete that I would. That's what makes powerlifting so cool. I'll be old and useless before I know it but that rush will never go away

Getting strong doesn't actually take that long....IF you move well and have the muscle mass required Offseason should be seen as a reprieve from consistently heavy loads and a time to focus on technical mastery, work capacity and the accrual of new tissue. Nobody wants to be a fat body loser wearing a tshirt during deadlifts. So do your curls, time your rest and treat your offseason as a time for serious improvement- not a time to screw around and find your max on non competition lifts.
