Located at 39 Advance Road, WorkCo is Etobicoke’s first-ever loft-style coworking space. This retrofitted warehouse provides hot desks, dedicated desks, private offices, and both an indoor and outdoor social hub for the EtobiCo community. We designed this adaptive-reuse project to be reminiscent of its industrial past, using the building’s high ceilings, brick and block walls, concrete floors, steel structure and factory-style windows. #KohnTeam: Project Architect Elyse Snyder has been doing some volunteer work with Centro Educativo Jean Piaget, a school for children with special needs in Granada, Nicaragua. The school, currently for preschool to grade 1, wants to expand their program to include grade 2. In order to do that, they first need to raise money to put a small addition on the existing school. Working directly with the founder and director of the school, Karla Miranda, Elyse has prepared some schem...atic drawings for the addition. With the help of Waves of Hope, a registered charity, their goal is to raise $10,000 which will go towards building materials and labour. They're almost half way there!
