Dr Henry has extended the Public Health Order until Feb 4. That being said, I think the light is at the end of the tunnel with the vaccine beginning to roll out. Hopefully lock down will be lifted soon enough, and we will be able to return to the mats. In the meantime, Zoom classes with Sensei’s Jeremy, John, Rick and Michael will continue. If you are interested in joining in on these five 40 minute classes a week, email me at [email protected]

Judo BC is excited to let the judo community know that organized sport can officially move into Phase 3 of the Return to Sport Protocols effective immediately. The BC Government made the announcement this morning. For Judo, this means that member clubs that have been approved by Judo BC to resume activities during the pandemic, can start doing judo with one partner and then transition into practicing in cohorts of 10 or less. Mask are mandatory during this phase and all the enhanced cleaning, hygiene and member screening protocols from phase 2 are still in place. For more information about the Phase 3 Protocols please visit the COVID-19 section of our website.
Registration had begun for the new season! If you plan to be on the mats or for Zoom only, a Judobc membership is mandatory. http://www.trackiereg.com/JudoBC-1KKSK If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at [email protected].
September is just around the corner. If your interested in being part of Judo, please let me know (email [email protected]). One new post Covid-19 rule will be no more casual dropin students. You are either in and part of the program or your not. Due to the pandemic, there will be no more "casual" students. Also, class sizes will be limited. In the next week or so, a student manual on navigating Judo through the pandemic will be put out by Island Judo. Definetly stay tuned for more info!
