In 2011 a randomised clinical study was carried out by Kumari and colleagues. Eighty two women with recurrent vulvo-vaginal candidiasis underwent an oral treatment regime of either Kolorex Horopito softgels or the antifungal pharmaceutical itraconazole for a period of 6 months.
