Who says you need frost at night for the sap to run. Day 5 or 6 since we last had frost and still running good. Whether we get frost at night or not, the tree is still pulling sap for the buds to make leaves. With vacuum, it allows us to draw the sap out even if it doesn't freze at night, as long as our vacuum level is higher than the trees natural vacuum.

Sunday Funday! We are boiling again today and the fire will be going. So come out anytime after 11:00am. We are located back Keller’s Crossroad. Look for the mountain and the steam ... Boots are suggested....it’s getting muddy. Please respect social distancing and we do allow you to walk the woods to see everything.

Chris is busy working in the woods today putting in all the drop-lines to the south side of our mountain. We tapped this side last year and used the traditional methods of a bucket and a spile. I can truly appreciate the modernization of the syrup harvest now.... The farming of Maple Syrup is such a rewarding harvest.
