Kootenay Chaos Track and Field Club 16.05.2021

Oct. 21 2020 practice. Finally, no rain for a workout! We've been working out since April without any competitions. It'll be nice to get to Kelowna this coming weekend for a BC interior race!!

COVID hit us in March. In April the training group reconvened and began practicing for any possible competitions that may have come up...obviously everything was closed down! The group continued to work hard right through to mid July. We would travel to Trail every two weeks to perform time trials, and also entered a U.S. high school virtual competition. Matti Erickson was named as the top performer for that competition by winning the 400 in 49.3, the 800 in 1:54.8, the 1200 ...in 3:07.8 and the mile in 4:17. Along the way personal bests were run by Madelyne Bonikowsky in the 800- 2:12.0 and the 1500 in 4:33.2. Jacob Bonikowsky in the 800 in 1:59.8. Grade 8 student Mitchell Erickson ran the mile in 5:28.8 and was followed in the race by Grade 5 student Dawson Abraham in 5:29.8 Photos left to right, Matti Erickson leading Jacob Bonikowsky in the 800...Madelyn Bonikowsky running with Jasper Ander and Dylan Gyr in the 800...Mitchell Erickson leading Dawson Abraham down the home stretch in the mile and Matti Erickson running his solo mile time trial.
