Once again we are sending out our annual report on Our Daily Bread. Thank you for reading it. As many of you heard, we are in a toxic drug crisis. More than 150...0 people have died this year, eclipsing last year’s totals. At Our Daily Bread, we help people salvage their lives. But we don’t do it alone. We do it through the kindness of folks with their giving and volunteering on site. One such person who is benefiting from your generosity is Jesse. About ten years ago Jesse walked through the doors of KCF to eat at Our Daily Bread. He was a thirty year old homeless addict staying at the shelter in Nelson. Jesse says, KCF welcomed me, Our Daily Bread fed me and encouraged me. They helped me with basic needs and resources. Jesse started volunteering at ODB and at KCF. He says, It gave me purpose and slowly introduced some spirituality and discipline back into my life. I was built up and eventually was able to get clean and leave to Alberta for full time work. My life has been completely transformed and I have been able to live a life of productivity, contribution, service and family. I am now forty years old and I am so grateful that my life was salvaged. Jesse’s success story is even more poignant, given the toxic drug crisis we are in. Salvaging the Jesse’s of the world make it all worthwhile. And it is only possible because of the generous support both financially and volunteering we receive from the kind folks that help us throughout the year. If you have already supported us this year, please do not feel any obligation with this, our Christmas Appeal letter. We recognize the financial pressure some of you may be facing. However, if you are able to help us to get through the winter, it would be a great blessing to all. But more importantly, your gift just might help us to salvage more lives. If you are able to support this essential service, one can donate by e-transfers to [email protected], or online at www.kootenaychristianfellowship.com. If you prefer using a cheque, make it payable to ODB and mail or visit 520 Falls Street, Nelson BC, V1L 6B5 or call 250.352.1722 to use our debit/credit machine. Yours for the Community, Jim Reimer See more

Good Morning and Happy New Year from the KCF office! The worship team is getting ready to practice, the music has begun and Pastor Jim and Pastor Alex are bantering, praying and cracking jokes as usual and giving the Administrator a hard time. Are you needing a little personal connection time? This morning why not try meeting with us on Zoom instead of FB. Click on the link below and note the Meeting ID as listed below to get in. You can join with us at 10am to have a ti...me of chat and connection with others. Look for the chat icon where we can chat throughout the service - maybe Pastor Jim says something that you don't understand, you could mention that in the chat and we can respond to you afterwards.
