Kootenay Columbia Trails Society KCTS Spring Newsletter Trail Crew Update The KCTS trail maintenance crew is currently preparing to start up for the season on April 19th. Until then snow will be melting off the usual lower elevation trails, and trail users will be out exploring, but please try to exercise some sensible restraint. It's a good idea to walk trails before riding them, and if the tread is still saturated then riding is going to cause damage, so wait till it dries ...out and share what you find on Trailforks. Also remember that anything could have happened (windfall, washouts etc.) over winter, so exercise appropriate caution. If you find anything significant, again post it on Trailforks (pictures help) and we'll check it out. With lots of new projects lines up it's going to be an exciting summer on the trails. Once our season starts, follow us on Facebook or Instagram for weekly updates. KCTS Fundraising This season we are bringing back the KCTS Apparel Fundraiser. New this year, the purchase of your garment will include a membership to the KCTS; already have your membership? Sign someone else up! There are some exciting new options being explored for KCTS merchandise this year and we will keep you posted when they become available (Shooting for mid-May) and where. Church of Dirt The Church of Dirt has a new injection of energy this season! Thanks to Steve Coutts, Greg Matthews and Tim Andrews for taking the reigns!! There are various projects between valley bottom and mountain high that are just getting their final approvals, but rest assured there will be great options for getting your hands dirty. We are still ironing out exact start dates, but look out for a late spring bunch of dates and some super buttery fall digging options.
