We are excited to be able to start taking appointments for our new program - KEYS BC. Kopar's Employment for Youth Services has expanded services for Youth. KEYS BC is an updated version of our old KEY-BC program. We are now able to offer one-on-one support as well as our highly sought after classroom services. In addition, eligibility for the program has opened up to include EI Active and EI Reachback youth, in addition to youth on IA or on nothing.... To be eligible for the program you must be: - Between the ages of 16 30 (inclusive) at the time of acceptance into the program - Canadian citizen, or permanent resident or a protected person as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; - Legally entitled to work in Canada; - Not a student or have plans to return to school in the next semester - Unemployed - Ready, willing, and able for work. Today is a bitter sweet day for us here at Kopar in Prince George. Today marks the end of one of our most successful and beloved programs. The Youth Employment Program - KEY BC - has ended its 3 year term. We want to thank all of the 100's of people who helped make the program the success it was. The work you did and the effort from everyone helped 90% of our clients move on to their successful next steps. We also want to thank the Federal government for funding this pro...gram and allowing us to help so many of the youth in and around Prince George. Without their support this would not have been made possible. For those that took part in the program, thank you for dedication to make things work and we want to wish you the very best in your future endeavours. It was fantastic to watch so many young people move forward on their goals and get closer to their dreams. You truly touched each of us here at Kopar. Although KEY BC is now over, this not the end of its legacy! Keep an eye on this space on Monday for a very EXCITING announcement! We did say this was "bitter" and "sweet"! :)
