Happy Saturday, folks! First off, I apologize for not updating very much lately! I’ve never been so busy in my life (in the best way!) After posting about taking Christmas orders at the beginning of the month, my pre-order slots filled up within 2 days!!! I am so overwhelmed by the unreal response received by you wonderful people! I almost feel guilty that I can’t do more!... I DO have a wait list, which I am constantly chipping away at in my free time, for those of you who didn’t get your orders in! ***MESSAGING the Koski’s Kitchen page is the BEST way to inquire and communicate about orders*** I am so lucky and grateful to have my amazing mother helping me to respond on my behalf while I’m busy baking! December has arrived! Getting ready for Christmas is definitely going to brighten these shorter days of winter for me! A huge part of that is being able to help you get your favourite finnish baking for the season! That being said, the month is filling up fast! The last week is booked up, so get your holiday orders in soon! ... In addition to the regular menu, I’m adding Bebe tarts, torttus(prune stars), and piparkakut ginger cookies. Various cookie recipes, and a few other holiday recipes will be for sale throughout the month on a first come, first serve basis!(still undecided and not for orders) Lastly, piirakka, and only piirakka are going to be made on Saturdays. Ok, so without thinking too much about it, I just wanted to throw out a quick post to keep my curious followers caught up! I’ve been baking less, in order to watch hours and hours of videos, learn, plan, and prepare for what I want to have as a dead set menu! I’m making/jarring homemade jams, getting inventory sheets fine-tuned, and have also been working on batches of rye bread, which I can’t wait to share!! I’ve even looked into how to grow my own cardamom...(btw, I have... become a cardamom crushing QUEEN!) This page has been amazing for communicating and getting the feedback I needed to push me into the next steps. The feeling I get when I realize that so many people can enjoy things that I love baking is indescribable, and can’t be ignored!! Thank you so much to everyone who has been supporting me and helping spread the word!! Please Stay tuned! One last thing: I do have some orders, and I AM still able to take a few more orders for Thursday and Friday this week! With Father’s Day fast approaching, and yesterday being the day my Dad would have been 56, I’ve been thinking a lot about what my Dad would think if I could gift him with a loaf of pulla that I baked myself. I think of how I bake as my way to remember and honour the culture and values of my Dad, and his family. It amazes me how pulla can connect people with good memories and warm feelings. I know I’m not the only one who thinks of Dad or Pappa when they smell fresh pulla... s...o if you think your Dad will love it as much as mine would, then place an order today! I’m prepared for a busy week, and look forward to hearing some more stories/ meeting some amazing Finns who have been so amazing to support me, solely because of my story and passion.
