I never think twice when people ask me what my favourite food is because the first things that jump into my head are tteokbokkie, Dak galbi, Korean Fried chicken, Korean seafood pancake, Kimbap... all of it. (PSA: Fastest way to my heart: tteokbokkie. )... A little while ago, I visited Kosoo on Cardero, one of Vancouver’s finest Korean restaurants. I’d been here many times before, and I was happy and excited to go again, this time to try their new dinner menu items: Jjajang Tteokbokkie Beef Gimbap I had never heard of Jjajang tteokbokkie before as I had only ever tried the original tteokbokkie. This dish is of a VERY generous portion, supposed to feed two people. We were three and still had leftovers! Jjajang Tteokbokkie consists of a crazy amazing number of things: Jjajangmyeon, which is black bean sauce with noodles, rice cakes (tteok), fish cakes, mandu - Korean dumplings, boiled egg, kimchi, carrots, and onions. To say this was flavoursome would be an understatement. You’ll be shook with the taste enjoyment you’ll get from this. All these foods mixed together bring out an explosion of flavours all at once, and all the textures mixed together with this make the Jjajang Tteokbokkie sensational. It tasted absolutely delicious, so delicious that I continued eating it even when I was totally full! The Kimbap was a load of tasty things wrapped in rice and seaweed: marinated beef brisket, avocado, pickled radish, spinach, carrot, and egg. You know when something is so good you just go Oh my God... YUM!? That’s what this was worthy of. Honestly yum in a roll. All the flavours and textures together made this so incredibly enjoyable. It is 100% worth visiting Kosoo on Cardero for these new items. They are absolutely delicious. Thank you so much @kosoo_restaurant!
