You dont need to destroy your mind body and soul in the gym. You dont need to be dead after every workout. You dont need to be so sore you can hardly sit on ...the toilet (unless youre into that sorta thing). You dont need to punish yourself for your workout to be effective. And you dont need to push through an injury or serious pain. Remember. Sore, sweaty, and tired doesnt mean your workout was better or more effective. It means youre sore, sweaty, and tired. Thats it. And if youre working your ass off in the gym but arent happy with your results, it might be worthwhile to reevaluate your plan. Because it doesnt take a great coach or program to make you sore, sweaty, and tired. Thats easy. But it does take a great coach or program to produce real, visible results. Having said that, working out isnt supposed to tickle. If youre doing it right there will be times in which youre uncomfortable. There will be times your muscles are burning in a safe, healthy, productive way (but still not comfortable). There will be times you want to quit. And there will be times you get nervous and question whether or not youll be able to make it the whole way through. And thats a good thing. Because youre trying. Youre pushing outside your comfort zone. Youre working to achieve your goals. And you understand success doesnt come from avoiding pain - it comes from taking consistent, deliberate action, adjusting to each obstacle as it comes. Sometimes adjusting means pushing forward. Other times it means taking a step back. Either way, the most important thing to understand is you dont need to put yourself at risk or push through an injury to see results. That said, dont forget the only way to change your body is by challenging it. No need to rush or go 100% every day, but push yourself. Challenge your body. Dig deep. See what youre capable of. I LOVE a drink of water!! Benefits of drinking water include flushing toxins, hydration, increased energy, great for skin....and there's more! In my opinion water isn't emphasized enough in the health and wellness world, yet its highly accessible in Canada. There's more emphasis on shakes and mixes. (Again, just my opinion) Do you like your water ice cold or more room temp? And don't tell me hot poured over coffee!! Lol!! We are talking plain old water. No sparkles, no flavor, (although I love lemon water in the morning! ) Clean water. It's a blessing!

Listen. Very closely. I just got off a call in which a very kind young person with a handful of severe health risks told me they didnt consider walking exercis...e so they just werent doing it. Please. Dont let the illusion of complexity fool you. Exercise doesnt have to be complicated. It doesnt have to be sprinting or hoisting or screaming or shouting or bleeping or trouncing or shfeezing or blowfing. You dont have to be a member of a fancy schmantzy gym or high end spa or even The Inquisitorial Squad to have a good workout. You dont have to lift so heavy the vein in your forehead bursts through your skin. You dont have to sweat so much your butt cheeks feel like a big stinky swamp. And dont let anyone fool into thinking you dont know what to do or you dont know where to start or you cant do anything worthwhile. You can. You can always walk. You can always drink more water. You can always eat more fruits & vegetables. You can always stretch. You can always do something. Because something is always better than nothing. And as long as you do something and do that something consistently...no matter how simple it may seem...you will improve. You will make progress. You will get better. Its not a matter of if. Simply a matter of time. As we move into phase 2 and more restrictions are lifted, and in the future when gyms can open back up...what are your plans? (Just looking for input on wants and needs.
