There are three confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Adam Scott CVI. Information has been sent to all Adam Scott families. Peterborough Public Health is not declaring an outbreak at the school at this time, because it is not believed that these cases were transmitted through the school. The health unit is calling close contacts directly tonight and advising them as to any next steps they must take, such as self-isolation and/or testing. The school is still open, and individuals wh...o have not been contacted may continue to attend school. Staff and students who do not receive a call from the health unit are asked to continue to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19; this includes completing the daily self-assessment for symptoms which is available at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/

Parent Update - Bus cancellations Student Transportation Services of Central Ontario (STSCO) has advised us of bus disruptions in local schools for Monday, Sept. 14. Please see below for further information and where parents can find the most up to date details on any bus cancellations or route information.... Sept. 11, 2020 Driver shortages continue to cause bus disruptions in local schools Nearly 40 bus routes cancelled for Monday, Sept. 14 PETERBOROUGH Student Transportation Services of Central Ontario (STSCO) says families should have back up transportation plans as close to 40 bus routes have been cancelled for Monday, Sept. 14 servicing local public and Catholic schools. STSCO has been informed that, due to an area bus driver shortage, First Student bus company will have to cancel 38 school bus routes for both morning and afternoon runs on Monday, September 14, 2020. The cancelled routes are listed on www.stsco.ca by school. Some local bus companies continue to have difficulty hiring and retaining drivers during the pandemic, an issue that many transportation consortia across Ontario are facing. As a result, STSCO warns that bus route cancellations and delays may be a daily occurrence in the weeks ahead. Any disruptions will be posted on a daily basis on the STSCO website to give parents and guardians as much advance notice as possible. Families in both Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board and Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board are asked to monitor STSCO.ca in the mornings and evenings, sign-up for automatic notifications and follow @stsco_ca on Twitter for information on cancellations and delays.

EDITED: As part of our return-to-school planning, 4,500 families and staff participated in an online Thoughtexchange. Based on what we heard, we are planning for every-other-day, in-school instruction, if the government mandates a part-time school routine. https://bit.ly/2ZegH0t We want students attending school full-time as soon as safely possible, unfortunately that is not a decision that school boards are able to make.... The Ministry of Education has asked us to plan for different scenarios for back-to-school this fall. Ultimately, the government, in conjunction with public health, will announce which of these scenarios school boards must put in place for September. We expect that decision to take place in early August. At the school board level, our decisions for scheduling are only related to what type of part-time schedule we would put in place, should the government mandate a model of part-time schooling - which could be either every other day, two days at a time, or a week at a time. We want to resume the in-person delivery of education as soon as possible for the benefit of students, families and staff, and will do so, as soon as the Ministry of Education and Public Health deem it is safe.
