This is Amy; she's an ER nurse in Dover. Amy is currently a patient after being exposed and contracting the Covid-19 virus; she is very weak and short of breath.... Amy's 12-year-old daughter misses her mother, dearly. I hope the sacrifices that front line workers are making to fight this virus are recognized in some official capacity in the future. Summer #17 completed in Waskesiu. What a Covid 2020 it was! Didn’t know till last minute that there would be EMS or even patrons to attend to. Our contract was shortened, the call volume was significantly lower than past years, things in general where different in the park. The park was busy but people are being careful, and looking after themselves, all things considered. A big thank you to all the Parks Canada staff in Waskesiu, you pushed through and made the summer safe and enjoyable for all. Everyone that works there plays an important role in keeping the Park spectacular for its guests. Thank you for yet another wonderful summer working in Waskesiu, we are honoured to part of the public safety team in PANP.

We’ve had a few inquiries about EMS service in Waskesiu. We are pleased to announce that yes, KPS Medic has signed a contract to provide EMS services at the ICP level for Prince Albert National Park once again. Staff have been on site since June 26 and are available within the park 24/7 through till Sept 7. We can be reached at the first aid room in the Visitor Centre, through any park staff, Parks Canada dispatch 1-877-852-3100, or in the event of a serious emergency dial 911 for an ambulance and they will dispatch us to treat until their arrival for transport.
