We've been hard at work for the last few weeks putting together hampers for clients in need. These hampers are delivered to Causeway clients who are experiencing hardships due to Covid-19 such as loss of employment, reduced hours at work, isolation or poor mental health/anxiety, living in extreme poverty, and financial stressors. Each box contains a variety of fresh, prepared, and non-perishable food items, and other essentials like hygiene products and vouchers. This goes a ...long way to help keep our clients safe and healthy! On top of providing essential items to people in need, our hamper project provides work for our clients working at Krackers. The Krackers staff are thrilled to continue working and supporting others in need. This was made possible with funding from The City of Ottawa Social Service Relief Fund and we are incredibly grateful for their support. This funding has also provided us with non-surgical protective equipment for our Causeway community.

We're so grateful for our partners and neighbours, Parkdale Food Centre! Not only does this partnership ensure that those who need it receive healthy food, it also provides more shifts for our staff who have lost hours due to Covid-19.

We’ve partnered with Parkdale Food Centre to help support them by delivering healthy food to those in need in Ottawa! By supporting Parkdale Food Centre, we are helping them keep people safe and fed while opening up opportunities for our staff to work. Thanks to the continued support of the United Way, we have been able to pivot and develop creative solutions to support our staff and help the community. Big thank you to Christopher who has jumped in to help out with deliveries this week as we get up and running!

Please note that we are suspending our catering services until further notice. We love the work we do for people and the community and take pride in the quality of food and service we offer. We also recognize the importance of everyone playing their part in efforts to keep people safe and healthy by cancelling events and practicing social distancing.
