The entire team at Krav Maga Ottawa wishes everyone a happy new year - more than anything we wish you a healthy amount of resilience, which we will need to get ...to the other side! In January 2020 Krav Maga Ottawa experienced its most successful winter session ever. Students kept flooding into all our programs and I was personally solicited all over the place for seminars and special events: then in Mars, of course, Covid hit. We had to shut down for six full months and the future of the school was put in jeopardy like never before. I must admit there were times when giving up seemed like the only option. Until I made a decision that it was not and never would be an option. We went online. We trained outside. Our incredible students stood by us all the way through. And in September we reopened with safety protocols and had our best fall session ever. Now we start the year in another lockdown and the end of the road is still far away. But we learned resilience. Krav Maga is about adapting and surviving - no matter what. And we will do just that. We will start a new year, although later than planned, and keep thriving. We will train new Instructors in the spring and we will keep growing and setting the best standards of Krav Maga in North America. We will do that because the world needs us and we have a mission- so that all will walk in peace. I want to take a moment to thank all our students for their support and their hard work throughout 2020 as well as my incredible team of Instructors without whom we would not have made it so far. 2021 will be full of hard challenges. So much pride is this moment! Astrid (14) and Margot (13), two sisters who were in our Kids class for five years and transitioned to the adult class in January, got their P4 level with an outstanding performance! This is the next generation of IKMF Experts!
