KRC Performance Horses 03.10.2020

We have all been swamped with work and school to keep the page updated. We apologize for that! I am in my last months of college as I graduate at the end of April. I am already looking at more courses I can add to my equine massage program such as Equine Kinesiology Taping and Equine Vertebral Realignment. Thanks -Kaylyn

So yesterday was my last ride on JD. We are hauling him to Ponoka on Wednesday.. halfway point to his new home. I've throughly enjoyed working with this boy and am happy to have brought him along. JD will always have a special place in my heart, I watched most of his birth, halter broke him, showed him as a yearling and then started him from the ground up as a 2 year old. JD surpassed all of my expectations and I couldn't be more proud to hand him over to his new home with his new mom.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bf5aUtx0mZo&feature=youtu.be Today JD had his 25th ride under saddle. He was a little rusty because he's had two weeks off... so this is him with no lunging after a two week break. I'm very proud of this big colt!

These are some photos I snagged on Wednesday when Dad and I helped some neighbors with bringing cow calf pairs in for branding. JD got his first taste of being a ranch horse for his 16th ride!! He did phenomenal... I couldn't have asked for more from him. He never balked or offered to act up. He went where I put him. So proud of this guy! Now to get him ready for Claresholm Paint Show!

Ever wondered why and what happens when your horse gets a massage. We expect so much of our horses why not treat them to a massage. If a horse is acting out ( bucking, tearing, bolting) it can be a sign of discomfort or pain. Poor saddle fit or even tight and tense muscles can be the cause. Message me to book your horse in for a massage!! No mileage charge if you are in the MD of Willow Creek!

Happy Belated 2nd Birthday JD!! He was born on April 30. The photos in order are: just a few minutes after being born, as a yearling last summer at his very first horse show and the last photo was taken a few days ago.

I am not showing the Arab circuit this year. We simply can't afford it so I will be doing local, open shows this summer with my young horses. We are also selling most of our horses so if you are interested in any of them please PM me. Some will be posted within the next couple of weeks and others will be for sale once summer is over. Not For Sale: KRC Lukkhe Wildcard (Lily), KRC Riot n Shine (Jinx) and Girl On Fire ( Katniss).

I have had inquiries about equine massage and my prices lately, so I thought it might be a good idea to talk a bit about what happens when I work on a horse. I have had a couple people tell me that my price is high or ask why does it take so long for the session. 1. If you are a first time client, first and foremost, I will either send you a questionnaire by email or in person, that collects all the information I can get about your equine buddy and what the concerns are. ...Continue reading

With show season just over a month away, we needed to make some serious decisions. Mom and I made the executive decision not to go to Region 17 Championship in Langley. I will be showing at the Spring Fling show, Parkland, Aurora and Western Canadian Breeders. It just wasn't feasible to go to Langley in the middle of my exams and my mom going through chemo right now. I wish everyone that attends R17 the best of luck and I will live vicariously through all the photos you post!

The weanlings got a lesson in self loading in the trailer this morning. They both did really well and we worked on halter training as well!

The vet bills never end with babies. JD decided to rip open his nostril and split open his upper lip. We took him to Claresholm Vet clinic. Dr. Wright did an amazing job stitching him up!

I'm getting ready for my last show of the season. JD and Phineas will be going. I worked with JD today on our stand up for showmanship and then clipped him. He stood like a perfect gentleman. Don't mind his nostril flare, he didn't like the baby oil I put on his nose.
