AHS has developed a simple online assessment tool to help you decide whether you need to call 811 to be tested for COVID-19. It'll guide you to answer questions... about your symptoms & take you through steps to help determine whether you need testing. http://ahs.ca/covid The tool will direct you to call 811 if COVID-19 testing is required. It will also provide reassurance to those who don’t require further testing and will reduce call volumes to Health Link at 811 for those whose symptoms are not serious at this time.
Effective immediately our Centre is closed as mandated by the Government of Alberta. Please stay safe.
AHS has launched a self-assessment tool to help Albertans determine what steps to take if they are experiencing symptoms. Check it out here: https://myhealth.alberta.ca//Pa/COVID-Self-Assessment.aspx
Health Link 811 continues to experience very high volume due to individuals seeking advice on COVID-19. We are training additional clinical staff and they are c...ontinuing to come on board to provide dedicated additional COVID support. Thank you for your patience. You can help the call volumes by considering visiting http://alberta.ca/covid19 for info, if you do not need a health assessment. For health concerns unrelated to COVID-19, consider visiting http://ahs.ca/options to find out where to get the right care for your health needs. Do not call 911 except for in the case of an emergency (where life, safety, or property is in immediate danger or there is a crime in progress). If you are awaiting to be tested, do not call Health Link. Please be assured: you will be contacted to arrange for testing. In the meantime, please follow self-isolation procedures to reduce the risk of transmission. If you are awaiting COVID test results, please do not call Health Link, which does not have access to test results. If you have been tested for COVID, remain in self-isolation until you are called directly with your test results.
Alberta has new travel recommendations to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. Effective March 12: Albertans should avoid travel outside Canad...a Travellers currently outside Canada should self-isolate for 14 days after returning and monitor for cough, fever or difficulty breathing If symptoms develop, stay home and call Health Link 811 for testing. UPDATE: This information may no longer be correct, visit Alberta.ca/COVID19 for current details. Alberta is taking aggressive new public health actions to limit... the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. Effective immediately, Albertans should avoid travel outside of Canada. All travellers returning from outside Canada should self-isolate for 14 days, even if feeling well. We’re also asking organizers to cancel large gatherings and international events if they have: More than 250 attendees More than 50 attendees and includes international participants or involves critical infrastructure staff, seniors or other high-risk populations This applies to sporting events, conferences and community events. It doesn’t apply to places of worship, grocery stores, airports or shopping centres. Schools and daycares can remain open at this time, but steps should be taken so that no more than 250 people are together in a single space. 23 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Alberta as of March 12, all travel-related. This includes 4 new cases announced today. One patient continues to recover in hospital and all others are in isolation at home. To protect yourself and others: stay home if you’re sick, wash your hands often, avoid touching your face & get information from reliable sources. Get daily updates at alberta.ca/COVID19
