just plopped the last of 2020 in The New Stuff section of Ye Aulde Website. At the very bottom, the very last shots, ending a weird (but photographically fertile) year, were some shots of the stunning boxing day sunset. This is fascinating. I have a handful of old rolls pulled out of old cameras I bought in thrift stores when you could still find them for three bucks. Although some of the cameras were/are pretty decent collector cameras, none is a Leica and I'm sure none have this mystique. Part of the reason I've never developed them is because I fear one roll may be from an old mass murderer's camera and I just don't want to have to try and explain that to the fuzz. "No... no look, officer... I'm too YOUNG to be the Zodiac Killer!"

Went for a ride today. Stopped by a ghost town.

I never aspired to any specific aesthetic and never knew the names or studied any famous street photographers. I actively avoided learning what the 'rule of thirds' is for at least my first decade, I didn't WANT influence, I didn't want anyone else's 'technique', I just shot what I liked, disliked and saw. Again, I never aspired, but if I were to have, this would have been my starting point. Such incredible stuff.
