Can you believe these gorgeous curls belong to an 8 year old cutie?! Mom and I worked these curls well today at the sink using my @brushwiththebest brush to detangle and define these curls. We just did a gentle shaping to remove weight at the bottom so it can continue to grow at a more even length. We used @earthtonesnaturals products, start to finish to create these juicy curls. Kudos to Mom for the great care she’s taken of her daughters hair, and helping her embrace her natural curls too. Miss B your curls are glorious!

In Canada, it’s Remembrance Day today, November 11th. We honour those who serve, who have served and those who support someone who serves or has served. Moral, physical and mental injuries sustained while serving are many times, invisible. Members and their families go through so much behind the scenes because of these sustained injuries from doing their jobs as asked. We are a military family. We’ve moved and restarted our lives many times while serving our country. We’v...e met many amazing people and been given great opportunities because of my husbands career. We are proud to serve. It’s a hard day for many, so it’s important that we honour our fallen soldiers, those who have served or are serving and those who support them. We remember and thank them for their bravery, courage and the freedom we enjoy today. xo Krista See more

Happy Entrepreneurs Day! . . . Never ever would I have dreamt to be where I am today when I opened my business back in 2013. I never intended to be a specialist at anything; I just planned on helping people look and feel their best and doing some neighbors and friends hair! ... Lord knows I have put in the hard work and sacrificed many times over the years. I know from this experience that I can do anything I put my mind to, and I hope someday through my example that I teach my kids they can do the same thing. Some days the guilt of missing spending time with them kills me. Being an entrepreneur means you’re going to have to miss out on fun things with friends and family for a long while until your business is steady, if you want to reach your personal goals. I hope in the end they see a Mom who believed in herself enough to try and fulfill her purpose in life. Literal blood, sweat and tears carried me to today, and I have such a deep appreciation for fellow small business owners! I will never get tired of seeing transformations This new client has been under the assumption that she has thick hair. She’s been buying and using products designed for thick hair, and that equals too much moisture for her fine strands! Yes, she has a decent amount of hair on her head, but each individual strand is fine. That means she cannot use products designed for thick hair because they weigh the hair down. Tonight she learned the difference in terminology, an...d when it comes to hair products you can tell the difference it made when I used products meant for fine hair, not thick hair. It’s so hard to know what’s what these days with all the info online. Bottom line: it just means that when you have fine, high density hair; you can use more of an amount of product designed for fine hair than someone with low density. This makes me wonder how many of you out there have been thinking and doing the exact same thing!? If you don’t know your hair, ask your stylist the next time you’re in for a visit. It can really make the world of difference to how much curl you can get out of your hair when you use products meant for your hairs’ characteristics. This beautiful lady is the perfect example of it. A real grown up little one was in to see me today! Isn’t she just the sweetest? She was such a patient customer She wanted bangs and Mom was so awesome to let her decide, and it turns out she loves them! Mom is a hairstylist too, so she came for the experience and to learn how to style not only Miss M’s hair, but 3 other curly littles she has at home. Technique is everything, and in kids the care routine is much simpler. I wrote a blog on caring for kids hair a few years ago.
