The public health implications of global climate change are difficult to predict, and we expect many surprises, the researchers wrote. The finding that raising atmospheric CO2 lowers the nutritional value of C3 crops is one such surprise that we can now better predict and prepare for.
"The anti-inflammatory diet isn't just for people with an autoimmune disorder, inflammatory condition, or chronic inflammation. It can be a great dietary guideline to promote overall well-being and a healthy, thriving immune system that works only when it’s really needed."

A nice summary of some herbs to try incorporating into your diet to help balance your hormones naturally... I often recommend a number of these to my patients, depending on the particular issues they're dealing with.
"In patients with acute pain presenting to the ED, acupuncture was associated with more effective and faster analgesia with better tolerance (than morphine)... This should be considered especially in today's increasingly complicated and polymedicated patients to avoid adverse drug reactions."
Go, Thunderbirds! It was great to watch the team's hard work pay off again this year at the NAIA Championships in Alabama. Proud to treat these guys track-side every week with Optimal Performance Clinic.
I love it when science proves what Chinese Medicine has known for millennia! In TCM, there is an organ system called the "San Jiao", or "Triple Burner", which plays an important role in the movement of energy and the transportation and excretion of body fluids. This organ is often referred to in classic texts as being in charge of "irrigation" for the body. While not necessarily intuitive from a Western Medicine perspective, I've thought of the San Jiao as being part of the f...ascial tissue in our bodies. Now researchers report that within the fascia is actually "interconnected, fluid-filled compartments... that act as a highway of moving fluid". And this interstitium could comprise the largest organ (by volume) in our bodies. "The protein bundles seen in the space are likely to generate electrical current as they bend with the movements of organs and muscles, and may play a role in techniques like acupuncture... This finding has potential to drive dramatic advances in medicine, including the possibility that the direct sampling of interstitial fluid may become a powerful diagnostic tool."
Happy Spring, Everyone!
