With EARTH DAY tomorrow, I challenge each of you to make a positive impact in our village by getting out and picking up garbage/recyclables. If you need a pair... of gloves and a bag, stop by our Municipal Office and we would be happy to provide them to you. : Snap a picture of yourself while out tidying up, within the Village of Air Ronge, post it on Facebook with the hashtag #villagesuperheros2021 and I will enter all entries with the hashtag into a draw on Sunday, April 25th at 7:00 pm. The winner drawn will win a $40 gift card. (Photo needs to include a full name, area you cleaned, the hashtag and the ‘goods’ you picked). The Village of Air Ronge is also happy to support our local students at Gordon Denny Community School by supplying enough gloves, bags and treats to the schools entirety. Staff and students will be out doing their community cleanup on Thursday the 22nd and Friday the 23rd so please give them a honk of appreciation and keep an eye out while driving. Every bit counts! Thank you for keeping our community clean! Mayor Baschuk

Cats gone wild! over the past several weeks the 911 dispatch center have been receiving calls regarding cats getting themselves into tricky situations on trees... and power poles. Unfortunately the department doesn't have the appropriate Aerial device to safely assist cats down. Cats are known for climbing high, but we would like to stress residents that they always come down safely on their own. (May take a couple hours) It can get quite costly for tax payers to dispatch the entire department to help a cat that will come down on its own, this is often glorified in movies, Balancing a 30 foot ground ladder next to power poles, or on a narrow tree that is swaying in the wind is not safe for anyone and isn't advised, The Fire Department would like to thank you for your understanding

Good morning, The Regional Fire Department will be doing prescribed (controlled) burns throughout the Tri-Community on May 1st & 8th. Specific to Air Ronge, th...e crews will be working on an area noted to see reoccurring concerns. May typically proves to be the Departments busiest month historically, and these are proactive approaches. WSA, Local Conservation Officers and Wild Fire Management have approved. The annual prescribed burns are great training opportunities for all Fire Department members, the Band type 2 wildland firefighters, and Wildland Firefighters with Wildfire Management (SPSA). Respectfully, Mayor Baschuk
