Magnesium and Potassium (Mg and K) are two minerals which are extremely important for hearth health and general overall health. Even in stroke prevention. Magnesium deficiency even temporary may even be present when you have acid reflux, even temporary after a meal. Such a situation may happen after too much calcium in Ice Cream! As we age, we need to ensure our digestion stays optimal, because that is the way our nutrients get in.... Dr. Jockers has some excellent information on the different forms of Magnesium, my preferred form being Mg BiGlysinate "Magnesium glycinate is possibly the safest and best choice for correcting a long-term deficiency, hence it is a fantastic option for magnesium loading that you will learn about soon. It is one of the most bioavailable and absorbable forms. It is the least likely to cause diarrhea. It is great for relaxation and reducing stress." https://drjockers.com/magnesium-loading/ There are however, other manufacturers of Mg which have multi-forms which are to target brain, and heart, nerves, etc. UniKey is one of them. Whatever Mg you use, ensure that you are taking enough of it, and examine your food intake for good sources. One thing is that people with Kidney Disease may not be able to take normal commercially available Magnesium supplements, and may need another kind. Whatever kind you take, ensure that it gets into the cells, and it is doing the most good. There is no real accurate blood test for knowing that you have a Mg deficiency, so it is better to supplement. Also, I recommend you look at the foods you regularly eat and learn a few foods that are high in Potassium from this wonderful list prepared by the BC Government in Canada. I was pleasantly surprised that yogurt and milk products are high in potassium. I personally wish that manufacturers would include the potassium content of foods such as this, or some juice you like to drink rather than the sodium content. https://www.healthlinkbc.ca/healthy-eating/high-potassium

Ever heard of Food Protein-Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome (FPIES). FPIES is an inflammation involving both the small intestine and the large intestine (colon). FPIES can be difficult to diagnose because symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea may at first look like stomach flu. In fact, it is not uncommon for families to go through several visits to the ER and their GP before a referral and a diagnosis are made (usually by an allergist or gastroenterologist).... In children it can cause growth issues if not properly diagnosed. https://foodallergycanada.ca//food-protein-induced-entero/ Lots of great resources in their webinars section on this Canadian web site about food allergies from Canadian Paediatric physicians.

Another reason to ensure your gut bacteria (microbiota) are well balanced and you avoid anti-biotic usage as much as possible To quote the author of the study: Environmental stimuli such as antibiotic overuse, high fat diets, caesarean birth, removal of common pathogens and even formula feeding have affected the microbiota with which we’ve co-evolved, said study senior author Cathryn Nagler, PhD, Bunning Food Allergy Professor at the University of Chicago. Our results suggest this could contribute to the increasing susceptibility to food allergies.

If you are a vegan and avoid eggs, you will likely need to take a supplement to increase your choline intake. According to this research, it's deficiency can affect brain function. Dr. Ben Lynch, N.D., the writer of Dirty Genes has a great page for Phosphatidylcholine Supplements.... If you know someone who is pregnant, they can use Phosphatidylcholine Supplements to improve their pregnancy. Here's the link: https://www.seekinghealth.com//phosphatidylcholine-supplem

New Research shows Why Cardiologists Don’t Recommend Keto or Paleo for Heart Health Are you dong a Keto Diet? "unsettling research that shows that your weight loss diet could be costing you your heart health and longevity. The short-term studies on keto and paleo look promising quick weight loss, cholesterol reduction, better blood sugar control, and more. A study at UBC (University of British Columbia) in conjunction with the Provincial Health Services Authority's Therapeutic Evaluation Unit found that current users of fluoroquinolone antibiotics, such as Ciprofloxacin or Cipro, face a 2.4 times greater risk of developing aortic and mitral regurgitation. Ciprofloxacin has also been known to cause medically verifiable liver damage. It is commonly used to treat UTIs. The above research will recommend the reduction of these 1 a day antiobiotcs and suggest other ones for treatment.

Is your doctor compassionate enough, or depersonalizing you to an object of attention. Wouldn't you like to be treated as an emotional and thinking being? I was shocked to learn the doctors often interrupt their patients in the first 29 seconds, when they could explain it all in that time https://www.washingtonpost.com//doctors-who-show-compassio

A Magnesium deficiency is usually because of dietary deficiency that requires supplementation. My research and speaking to a cardiologist has pointed me to the conclusion that if you do not get enough Magnesium as you age, you will most certainly get an arrhythmia. Even a very subtle and minor one which you will not be able to distinguish unless you pay careful attention to your heart beating oddly at night in complete quiet. In fact this is a great way to figure it out yours...elf. Or ask yoor doctor for an ECG. No one's diet is perfect. And most people probably have a sulfur deficiency as well. Sulfur is important for detoxification. So is Magnesium as well. That excess sugar you ate when you were younger before you changed your diet may cause you difficulty later. Even if you do not get diabetes from that. However, you may still have insulin resistance or pre-diabetes. Make sure if you fast, or do any special cleansing diet, you ensure you have enough Magnesium and Potassium supplementation. Sometimes also when you eat foods which your body is sensitive too, and wants to get rid of right away, your heart will beat faster. A faster beating heart requires more Mg, and K. This may be how people develop arrhythmias. An elimination diet has been proven to help reduce gallbladder attacks. So even a little extra Magnesium can be a problem solver for gallbladder issues. I get my Magnesium from Concentrace Mineral drops myself. https://drjockers.com/10-signs-magnesium-deficiency/ Are you supplementing with Magnesium? Are you aware of any heart arrhythmia?
