New Scam in town. Guy with Indian accent calls (LOCAL NUMBER) and will "refund" the maintenance fee you paid when you bought the computer ($300). He wants you to download Teamviewer and than the connect remote to your computer to refund the money "right away". Needless to say, please don't do......... Be safe!

As you probably already noticed, TELUS will transition all email accounts to be powered by Google, which will require you to take action and will also mean a change in the way you use your TELUS email today. WARNING!!!! AND, PLEASE SHARE!! There are different scam calls in our community about viruses or malware on your computer. Please be aware and allo...w NOBODY to have remote access to your computer / laptop. Once they have remote access to your computer, they are able to read ALL your data incl. saved passwords, banking data etc. And they are also able to delete your pictures and documents and even lock you out of your own computer. We fixed already a bunch of computers in the last days. Most importantly: DO NOT PAY!! If you have such a call and somebody tells you, there are from SHAW, TELUS or MICROSOFT, please hang up, NOBODY will ask you to let them remotely on your computer. If you have such a call and you do suddenly realize a scam, disconnect your router from the power and AFTER that you hang up the phone. If you have concerns about this issue, please contact us and we help you.

DO NOT BUY OR USE "FIXMESTICK" We had this year already two customers, where we had to repair their computer after they used this "selfcleaning" device. This device can wipe out personal files, pictures and other important files on your computer. ... The cleaning process is fully automatic, means YOU have NO CONTROL what this device delete.
