I have never felt like the New Year was on January 1st. I have always felt like the new year started when school started up again. It is a new start.. a new season. The leaves change colour and everything changes in a beautiful way. We harvest the last of our garden, prepare for winter. We watch leaves fall to the ground a million times over and it is so pretty. Fall is such a beautiful time of year. Everything knows that it is time to die off and prepare for winter. School s...tarts and everybody is back on a schedule and this season is all about re-connecting with family and loved ones over Thanksgiving and family gatherings. I have never thought of Jan 1 as the start of the new year. I always think of the first day of school and Fall as the New Year. It is engraved into me and I don't think that will ever change.
