BOTH over functioning and under functioning can be a response to how we manage and cope with trauma and stressful events. One is not better than the other. One is just seen as more desirable by our society.

There is so much more to uncover in your life’s story. Keep going!

Today marks my 100th post since starting this page almost two years ago! I wanted to do a quick introduction of myself and share the purpose of this page to all of my followers. The plan was to do this on the day that I hit 200 followers. However, something about this didn’t feel authentic to me. I never want this page or the things I post to be connected to number of followers. So instead I decided to use my 100th post to get the job done. This page represents content tha...t is near and dear to my heart. If anything I’ve posted brought up a reaction for you or served as validation, know that it has done the same for me in my own healing journey. Selfishly this page has become a resource for myself to look back at and scroll through when I’m having my own tough days and when life feels complicated as happens often. I made this page with the intention share words that have helped me in the hopes that others benefit as well. See more

Empathy without boundaries is self destruction.

Doing the work requires connecting with the right supports and implementing a unique intervention catered to your unique situation. There is no easy way around it. I would also add that you cannot be your own therapist and neither can family or friends fill that role. If that was the case, I wouldn’t have a job! #therapy #psychotherapy #counselling #doingthework #gettherighthelp #youdeserveit

Not everyone has earned the right or deserves to hear your story. Be selective in who you share the deepest parts of yourself with.
