Government of Canada announces economic/financial support: 1) Emergency Care Benefit - for those affected by loss of work due to COVID-19 - up to $900 every 2 weeks, 15 weeks. Apply online, payments via Direct Deposit, a simple attestation to apply. Available early April. 2) Emergency Support Benefit to those who do not qualify for EI - $5 billion annnounced - up to 14 weeks.... 3) GST credit - $400 for single individuals, $600 for couples/families 4) Canada Child Benefit - Single, one-time top up, $300/child. 5) Small Business Wage Subsidy - 10% of wage to keep employees working. $27 billion in emergency funding. Big 5 banks waiving (up to 6 months) mortgage payments. Contact bank directly to discuss situation. Finance Minister speaks with CEOs of major grocery chains - no price gouging at the tills!
