Trying out my new PEMF Equine Wings attachment! Beau is happy to be my test subject
Happy belated national dog day to my own pups and all of my wonderful clients! Oops!!
Our lesson horses enjoying a magnawave treatment by KS equine massage!!! Thanks Kurstie!! They sure loved it!!
Loving their PEMF treatments, thank you Kurstie Sylvester
Here is an updated list of services and prices!
I finally have my PEMF machine and finished my certification! I performed a session on my horse Jacey, (the horse that barely tolerates body work), and he really enjoyed it! Here is a little clip of his shoulder reacting to the PEMF. The area will only pulse if there is some sort of process happening (typically inflammation) and will show nothing at all if everything is functioning well in the area. The pulse can been observed anywhere from almost unnoticeable to an obvious pulse as seen in this video. It is not painful and he was licking, chewing, yawning, and standing perfectly still (something this horse rarely does) the entire time!
Each time that I am asked to go and massage Quest he is more and more responsive and expressive. His muscles are becoming more soft, supple, and relaxed, and he is feeling less pain and discomfort. As a result, he is really starting to enjoy our time together and so am I! He makes me smile and laugh and I forget that I am at work! I can honestly say that I love my job!
PEMF Update: I am patiently waiting for the arrival of my PEMF machine! My PEMF certification course is August 14th. So, I will hopefully be ready to accept clients for PEMF by mid August! I will have a price list including package deals posted for everyone as soon as I am ready to set up appointments. In the meantime, I am available for massage therapy and LED light therapy appointments!
Great news! I have purchased a PEMF system and it is on its way. Once I receive the system and become certified, I will begin booking appointments. Stay tuned!
Meet George! I have been treating him with LED Light Therapy for a herniated disc for the last month. He has greatly improved with the therapy along with his vet prescribed medications, and acupuncture treatment. He is usually snoring by the end of his session!
Happy Canada Day . Thank you Angela Clark for coming out today and treating Jacey and I with your PEMF machine and answering all of my questions so that I can decide what machine to purchase!
Despite having very little tension in his neck muscles, Quest really enjoyed having his neck massaged! Here he is leaning into the pressure and tilting his head to show that I am hitting the spot!
Beau was being such a ham during his massage and laser treatment that I couldnt help but take some pictures!
Onyx definitely was enjoying his massage today! There were some big sighs, a lot of yawning, licking his lips, and chewing, and of course the lowered head and droopy lip pictured below . He also felt the need to keep turning his head around to watch me work or to give me some snuggles. He is always such a pleasure to work on!
So nice to hear that I am making a difference in this girls comfort!
Poor Beau had a vaccine reaction which caused him quite a bit of pain in his neck muscles both where the vaccine was given and continuing further down his neck. In the picture below, I am using a form of hydrotherapy called cryotherapy (icing) to help decrease his pain and swelling. In the early stages, this treatment can be used for 8-10 minutes 3-4 times per day. As you can see, Beau is showing his appreciation for the treatment with a lowered head and a droopy lower lip!
With the re-opening of animal services such as grooming, training, and regular veterinary appointments, KS Equine & K9 Massage is now accepting regular appointments for equine and canine massage as well as LED light therapy treatment. Please know that I will continue to practice safety precautions and proper sanitizing of equipment in between treatments. Thank you all for your patients during these difficult times! Stay safe everyone!
Happy Mothers Day to all of my clients! I miss seeing all of your smiling faces and treating all of your fur babies big and small! Enjoy your day!
Jacey got a little touch up treatment today
Loving the rechargeable battery pack for the LED light therapy! Way less of a hassle and no cords to worry about! @ Brigden, Ontario

This is Rios Blueprint or Sexy. Hes an 18 year old stallion that I massaged today! What a well behaved and sweet boy he was! You can see he LOVED his massage by the awesome faces he was making!
Barney sure has come a long way from the first time that I treated him with massage and laser therapy. Congratulations Diane and Dwayne and way to go Barney!
Happy national pet day!
I finally managed to find some time to pamper my own horses over the last two days! Plus, I got to use my hand held laser! Jacey had laser therapy on his TMJ joint on both sides, both hocks, both stifles and a hematoma on his hindquarters from a kick. A hematoma is a fluid-filled area and bruising typically caused by trauma such as a kick from another horse. One laser treatment decreased the size of the hematoma almost by half!
Dont forget! Its my birthday month and what better way to celebrate than a giveaway! LED light therapy can help treat TMJ conditions! The temporomandibular joint, or TMJ, is the joining of the upper (maxilla) and lower jaw (mandible) allowing movement of the jaw. Unfortunately, TMJ problems can be quite common in horses and can lead to arthritic changes causing pain and many secondary problems. It is suspected that the horse pictured below may have some TMJ arthritis and he has some mild swelling/edema over his left TMJ. His LED light therapy treatment decreased his symptoms and made him one happy boy!
Look what just came in the mail! An addition to my LED/red light therapy tool kit! This is a small, hand operated machine used to treat targeted areas in a more concentrated form which allows a much shorter treatment session! This will be great for those hard to reach areas, small treatment areas, those who will not tolerate wearing the LED light therapy treatment pads, and those who will not or cannot be still for the usual 15 minute treatment. Thankfully, it can treat the same conditions are my other LED light therapy machine such as skin conditions, muscle/tendon/ligament injuries, and post-operative areas to name a few. Contact KS Equine & K9 Massage if you are interested in booking equine or canine LED/red light therapy or massage therapy!
Did you know that laser therapy can be used for lymphangitis? Lymphangitis is inflammation of the lymphatic system which commonly causes edema in the limbs. Laser therapy will help to decrease this edema by increasing blood and lymphatic circulation. There was a visible difference in hindlimb edema post-laser for Nate!

I regularly attempt to explain knotted fascia and muscles to horse and dog owners. I like to explain it like as relaxed muscle and fascia looking like an untouched spider web and knotted muscle and fascia looking more like a tangled spider web. This is a great example as well!
Congratulations Diane and Dwayne on another win for Eternal Ruler! It has been an absolute pleasure working with your horses these last several months! I am ecstatic that massage therapy and laser therapy have made such a difference in the comfort of your race horses!
