This business owner and I have known eachother since grade school. We are fortunate enough to work with several daycares but this one is the first 24hr one we're aware of. Hello, my name is Jena Barefoot, and I am a daycare provider in Ingersoll, however I operate a little bit differently from other daycare...I operate 24/7. A little bit about myself, and why I chose to operate around the clo...ck. I just recently turned 40 years old in December. I am a single Mom of an almost 20 year old son, who resides in the USA, as he is now in the US Army. He has been enlisted for almost 2 years as a Cargo Specialist. I also have a 14 year old daughter who is with me most of the time during the day, when she isn't at school. She has her own dedicated babysitting job, Wednesday - Friday, and has been doing it for over a year and a half. She spends every 2 weeks in the evenings with her Father, so with her being gone 2 weeks at night and my son being gone as well, the house got very quiet at night. Originally, the plan was to just do before and after school care, but it just wasn't enough for me. I needed that extra something to keep myself busy and my mind occupied, and this was the solution. I have been running my daycare for 3 years now, come April. Before I started my daycare, I worked at Cami Automotive for 12.5 years. I was very unhappy there. Running my own business has been the best decision I have ever made. I am happier and so much more independent. This job has been so rewarding for me. I have had so many kids come thru daycare. Some have been with me from the start, and some have just been here for a day or two, as an on-call job. The numerous tags and mentions I get from past and present client's, makes me feel like I am definitely doing what I was meant to do. The support is outstanding!
