Berkshire piglet litter #2 born at 1:30 this morning. 10 more mouths out and about!

The first litter of pure bred Berkshire piglets was born early this morning. 13 happy healthy piglets are now snorting up the barn.

The last of the pork from last spring is now slaughtered and awaiting cut and wrap. It was a great year and bring on the piglets next week!

Our single piglet that was born premature earlier this week went to a new home this morning on a farm near Birds Hill. The piglets new mother took this video showing how it's fed through a syringe and nipple.

Had an interesting day on the farm today, a first time Gilt in the herd delivered a premature litter of piglets 5 days early. Went into the barn this morning to find this little one shivering next to momma, so wrapped my shirt around it and put it in the truck on the heated leather (instant sleep). The kicker is, she delivered 5 days early to only two piglets. She's exhibiting strange behaviours though still, just when you think you've seen most of it, a new one in my book!

Some things never change!

One of our horses that was born on the farm and sold to a neighbour last year had her first foal this morning, a lively little colt named Goldie. Cute little devil.
