To our loving community who has supported us every step of the way from our inception to present day, our team would like to take a moment and express our utmost gratitude for everything you have done to get us we are - we've officially crossed 1,000 followers on instagram and we're confident that this milestone is only the beginning of many more to come. To anyone that thought of us when it came to small gatherings or large scale events, given us feedback (both good and cons...tructive), shared a post on their feed or story, told a family or friend, or even engaged with us on social media - this is exactly the type of support small businesses are looking for during these tough times and we couldn't be more appreciative of the fact that we are surrounded by outstanding individuals all around. Over the past 8 weeks or so, we hit pause on production as our head chef went through surgery. As a family owned business, family is our number one priority and we've had no regrets in choosing to take a temporary step back. We would like to take this moment to apologize to our patrons who reached out to us during this time. Fast forward to December 2020, we are happy to report that they are well into recovery mode and we are ready to serve the community for the upcoming holiday season (kulfis near the fireplace anyone?) Reposted from @seed.eat.repeat The best kulfi I've ever had in Canada *Okay the one exception being my uncle's friend's mother's homemade kulfi but unlike @kulfisnkreme, that can't be delivered right to your door almost anywhere in the GTA ... For those that haven't been blessed with kulfi, it's a frozen dairy dessert from the Indian subcontinent that is similar to old-school, custard based ice cream. It's never churned, so it's much denser and creamier than a Baskin-Robbins. @kulfisnkreme NAILS the flavours of my childhood, and makes some innovative ones too. Their paan kulfi blew my mind, with distinct notes of betel leaf, anise seed and rose petals. The other amazing flavours I got to try were the Coconut Lagoon, Artisan Malai, Zaffrani Pistachio, Kesar Rajbhog and Mango Sensation. (Ate the last 2 before I took pics because it looked too good oops ) Their amazing products are available for pickup in Markham or delivery across the GTA! DM them on IG and they'll get you set up! My parents and I felt like we were back in India P.S. they also make kulfi cakes?! *Side note: I often used to call things "the Indian ______" [insert Western dish]. Then I realized that's ridiculous because oftentimes the Indian dish originated far before the Western one. Baskin-Robbins is the American kulfi. This long weekend, we were given the opportunity to start a new month off on a very refreshing note by giving back to our community! While GTA begins to enter Phase 3 of the city's reopening, our front line workers continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our city is safe and COVID 19 is managed as best as possible. As a thank you to their service, we were able to partner with a few of the nurses and resident doctors from Toronto Western Hospital and donate some of our products to keep them going!
